like maybe just change group subcategory into 100% for the lower lvl dungeons most people can reaslistically solo. I'm able to solo everything up to SM gy and lib, I get my ass handed to me by herod going to SM armory and beyond. thought I approached it on a lvl 51 rogue, I know I can solo it on my 60 shaman.

reasons why

-can't realistically find multiple people interested in speedrunning on most given servers that'll go through low lvl dungeons you can solo.

-Kind of hard to tell if all bosses where killed in a dungeon if you've only got 1 PoV to work with from the runner submitting. Ie. for wailing caverns, say I had like 3 other people, I clear out the mobs for the escort to the last boss and get lady anacondra, while 1 guy goes to cobrantis, 2 other guys head towards serpantis/skum etc, how you gonna tell if those extra skippable bosses wheren't just skipped?

-100% would be more approachable to multiple other classes since in all bosses and any% mainly gets cheesed by hunters/rogues/ferals to an extent. skipping through mobs that most other classes have to kill their way through, would make those aoe classes like mages have a good go at 100% category, where you kill every mob in the dungeon and every boss.

If anything, I think there are already people who have some runs in the group category for like the higher lvl dungeons where you genuinly have to be in a group to complete. Maybe keep the group category and add a 4th sub-category to each dungeon run for those who want a longer-marathonish speed run.

why I say they compliment eachother in a wierd way is I'd like to think most speedrunners naturally pick the lowest pop f2p worlds that are like worlds 470 and up for their F2P runs, I know for some reason I was drawn to picking the lower pop worlds because I didn't wanted to get cucked by someone else opening a door/gate earlier then me, thus cancelling my action. and it being an MMO, you're not single player and running into other speedrunners at certains times would be out of your control, unless we all communicated to eachother when we're going, even that wouldn't be reliable. I know for some of my earlier runs yesterday before I learned the trick to use someone elses fire, you can skip 12 seconds off the first fence, I saw someone else lighting fires in the exact spot that Research had at. and I was in the 470 worlds.

So I've been pretty inactive as for most of this year, came back yesterday to start grinding at tutorial island any%,. I noticed another sub category for max% getting lvl 3 in all skills you can besides prayer. The max% combat part, actually does the job of a 2ndary account for multi log in any%. it can't kill the rats but bring them to 1 hp, that's like perfect for an any% tutorial island speedrunner because they usually need to have a friend or be good at multi tasking while speedrunning to have a 2nd (i mean 3rd account) to then be lowering the rats.

If this community where bigger and we had more people running both of these categories, in say a select few worlds for the speed run category like worlds 470 and up. The any% runners would be clearing out 1 hp rats and kind of somewhat making the worlds safer for a Max% runner whos trying to get the rats to 1 hp and hopefully they don't log into a world already where a max % runner was having the mouse at 1hp, but if there was also an influx of any% runners, they'd be sniping those 1hp rats.

Realistically this couldn't happen, not enough people speed run the game; let alone tutorial island as I see champions guild/black knights fortress etc are more competitive to run. I like the gesture of this category being added. If that was the intention or not.

If this community where to ever get bigger, would you not consider it multi logging if you happen to be running at the same time and world(s) as a max% runner as an any% to snipe their 1hp rats that they left with the intentions of not killing? (since they'd be doing it between 4-5 worlds)

I'll start off, from Mika's youtube video, we get 7/7/7, from the wiki it says for speedrunning it says we get 3/3/3 to make tier 1 of every armour. and then search for the 2 mini bosses. the 2 mini bosses being the big bear where you protect melee and the dark beast where you protect range, you want to kill these 2 mini bosses to get tier 3 weapons of halberd and bow. then get 3 of every item the whool, minerals and the bark. you make tier 1 of every armour piece

then you get 1-2 potions deppending how long you spent finding the mini bosses to get the item for your tier 3 weapon. while you're doing all of the above, you should also be fishing for paddlefish. you want 25, 1 space for the weapon, 2 spaces for the potions you make, if not 26 paddlefish and 1 potion space and 1 weapon swap space.

or like a No potions run, where you don't use any prayer pots, you just use the prayer you got then if ya run out you gotta tank the rest of the brothers?

or have iron man and main account specific levels

we could even to like marathon runs where ya get 5-10-25 chests in different speedrun catagories.

the 100% could probably be totally optimized for main accounts with mage gear and prayer potions to be used. rather then the route I gave out that I do on my iron man

maybe make the any% include killing the barrows brother that's spawned by opening the chest, just so the speedrunner has a slight slight slight chance at an item from that brother? idk just a thought

unless we'd rather ban runs done on a very very rare boss slayer task which assigns barrows.

the any% would be more open to new speed runners, where 100% barrows run would be done by people in like ancestral, arma, bandos and a slayer task for WR type of deals.

the any% could be literally finding the tunnel as fast as you can, and getting the luckiest tunnel pattern to reach the chest and get your 15gp or w/e it rewards you.

I've been doing these on my stream unofficially on my iron man, is I barrows tab, no matter what spot I'm in, that is my starting points. Just to keep me motivated to try and beat my own PB while trying to hunt out my remaining items, but this could be more competitive deffinetly for main accounts to then bring super combat potions, imbued hearts and ranging potions into this mix. I just do my speed runs on my iron man with only food for supplies, and 1 prayer potion for like backup, I could imagine these runs being done way faster with a main account in BIS gear and prayer potions.

how I got about my barrows speedruns are Dharok>Karil>Ahrim>Verac>Torag>Guthan>Chest

I have other forms of speed running this since I play an iron man. I do the same as above for my more recent speedruns for rewards + kill npcs underground for roughly 86% in my splits for live splits I use it at 83%-86% range to get my max amount of runes without hitting the bolt table.

I do other forms of it as well where I leave out brothers I don't need items from, I was often doing Dharock>>Karil>>Guthan>>Chest since I have full torags and veracs and don't really care for ahrims staff.

How I go about when a tunnel brother occurs in any run, I immedietly split that, and count that brother into the "chest" time in some runs and I put it in the "83-86%" splits of my other runs where I go for full profit outta barrows while trying to speed run it, I think they'd have to be different catagories, where 83-86% be considered 100% barrows for iron man varients, if you guys want it 100% maybe for mains? Basically I call my time upon the moment of the reward items showing up on screen.

any thoughts on this? would it be hard to like code/implimment onto this site?

You where my original first goal point, when I submitted to this my first time last week or more ago, I had a 5:35 time, saw yours pop up maybe a day after saying 4:27, so that was my own personal goal to beat yours, so I matched your 4:27 was content for that day and had work to do the following days, here you are in 5th place, I plan to beat your timing seeing your one of the runs without a multilog. I see your time as my next goal rather then the guy in 1st place, thanks for keeping this section competitive.
