The whole purpose of minimum captures is to do the least amount possible on a specific version/mode, being 1.0/1.3 and 1p/2p respectively. Removing a capture skip defeats the entire purpose of minimum captures, as that wouldn't be the minimum. Of course, you could also say "what's the point of allowing 1.3 and 1p?" as those aren't the true minimum capture numbers, but those are mostly for accessibility reasons, as not everyone wants to obtain 1.0 or play in 2p, or both. To me, it seems pointless to remove something like Pokino and have a 14 captures category, or remove certain CRCs, as it's completely arbitrary. Versions and mode are good ways to differentiate categories already, and having more than 4 subcategories would also be very confusing for new people trying to learn routes.
TL;DR adding extra subcategories based on arbitrary capture skip removals is pointless and would make the leaderboards way more confusing.
You would have to look at the 12 Captures runs, as Nut Jumping is only available on versions 1.0 and 1.1. Currently, though, there are no 12 Captures runs, so the closest thing you can look at is 3 Captures.
Personally, I don't think splitting them is necessary, unlike minimum captures, where the entire goal of the run changes depending on 1p or 2p. You can still do Star% on 1p and on 2p, and technically regardless of version. Now, Bruncheon is technically possible on v1.3, however it's extremely difficult, much more than CRCs. CRCs are definitely not that difficult to learn anymore, as there is an entire discord with a powerpoint to help new people start out, as well as tons of people willing to answer questions. The only reason to separate between 1p and 2p is for people unwilling to learn CRCs that want a chance at getting the WR (they still need 1.0, keep in mind).
I think that allowing 4 captures would allow accessibility to those who are currently unable to get a 1.0 version of the game. However, if 4 captures is added, the version should be restricted to 1.2-1.3 to discourage current 3 caps players from getting a run in just because they accidentally captured something they weren't supposed to.
12 caps on the other hand seems completely pointless to me. If you're going through the effort of getting a 1.0 cart, you might as well learn some of the 2p movement. Most of it is very easy now, as "Broodon'tdon't" is an alternative to the very difficult to learn "Broodon't" (not to mention also being faster). CRCs have also gotten a lot easier to do, as technically all of them can be done without having to use the CRC timed beat of around 3.13s.
I think 3, 4, and 13 captures are the only subcategories that Minimum Captures needs.
I think the fastest way to die (excluding the void) would be the 3 small coin goombas that exist before you enter the hat tower. Would only be like a minute and 30s at most.
