@Amps8695 Shovel knight meets our minimum requirements so just submit it. It is an action game with platforming and rpg like mechanics.
If you are planning or have submitted to the marathon please make sure you in the channel as well on discord to talk about the event or to coordinate with myself and staff. https://discord.gg/BspamJW
ARPGME is an Online Marathon for action rpgs in which the goal is to promote and showcase the games, and communities around them.
We highly recommend new games or categories be submitted as well.
More information about the marathon can be found here: https://nasamarathon.com/arpgme/
Looking forward to the submissions and the event.
Information for Submissions and the event have been updated.
Submission Info has been updated also with minimum requirements.
¤added note to consider when submitting games that are longer then a few hrs.¤ Submissions that are longer then 2+ hours have a better chance of being cut due to things like time constraints or for more favorable runs that are either more interesting or have better commentary.
Please be aware of this when submitting thank you.
The submit link is on the side aswell but yeah I'll do that.
My suggestion is to submit w.e you think fits. The only only stipulations we are looking at for games is that the games focus is primarily on the action/combat elements of the games and has some sort of rpg like system to support it.
Some games as examples that would be good for submissions; Borderlands, Zelda Games, God of war, Hyper Light Drifter, Diablo, Wichter, Skyrim, Fallout, Torchlight, Mana Games, Dungeon Siege, Vampire Bloodlines, Sacred, Mass effect, Baldur's Gate, Kingdoms Of Amalur, Bloodborn, Dark Souls, Bastion, Dragon Age, Horizon Zero Dawn, Kingdom Hearts, Deus Ex, Darksiders, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow,Order of Ecclesia, Portrait of Ruin, Symphony of the Night.
I will try and update this list more if need be, but these are good examples to use as comparison when looking at what games to submit.
My suggestion is find games you you like and think you'd like to play more. You don't have to be great to start speedrunning as it comes over time with practice and learning as with all things.
Submissions are now Open and will run till mid or late September depending on total submissions.
My suggestion is that if they have a Discord for the community use that, else maybe try and post in the games forums to ask them to start one as It's a very useful thing to have to keep a community connected and growing.
Trust me I was told this by many people =p
