I personally think we shouldn't as there doesn't seem to be much interest in actually running it. A lot of the IL categories are already empty, I don't think it would be wise to add a bunch more empty categories.

The best theoretical time is currently around 21:56. Even though a 21 is technically possible, it is way too absurdly difficult to even consider it as a possibility with current strats.

For runs under 25 minutes, the mods use a program to manually remove every loading screen from the run to get the final time.

For runs above 25 minutes and runs for every category other than any%, you submit your with loads time in both the with and without loads boxes.

Loads generally dont effect times until low 25 anyways.

i dont think it would be possible because a tas would need to start with a fresh coin counter. also standard tas timing would include the cutscene.

As long as you load the game through your disc, its perfectly fine to have a modded console.

You can always feel free to run with the restriction, even if it doesn't have a specific leaderboard category.

The category extensions in this series aren't meant to be taken seriously at all. Also more categories most definitely doesn't correlate with more runners. The main reason this game isn't run very often is because of it's difficulty to record and the fact that this game is the easiest and, in my opinion, most boring game in the series.

By transferring your 3D World save data to a small USB storage device, you can fill up the storage on that device to a point where there is no longer enough space to store new saves for 3D World, so the game will skip saving entirely. There's a guide in the pinned messages in the help channel of the Discord that covers how to do it step-by-step.

This is a response from CreepyGar on another forum post about emulator, and I assume that the same reasons still apply to why there isn't a subcategory for them (correct me if I'm wrong, please):

"An emulator is not an official release of the game, it is in the definition of an emulator, it EMULATES the official version, which automatically makes it an unofficial version on its own. Secondly the load times are inconsistent and even if they were slower than Switch or WiiUVC, emulators will always keep a layer of fishiness so we have decided to flatout ban all usage of any emulator for speedrunning. If you want to use an emulator so badly, then fine, we're not stopping you from doing so but you being stubborn should be beyond you caring about the leaderboard at that point."

As for obtaining the game, you'll need to do that yourself as it's illegal to distribute ROMs. The main ways of getting it are downloading it off the internet or ripping it from your own personal disc, if you have one.

He does stream runs live on twitch. While this particular run wasn't streamed, I don't see much reason for this run to be suspicious.

A brief overview of the requirements/information:

• You need to be able to stream on Twitch

• You need to have an Any% No World 5 pb submitted

• Sign-ups close on April 28th, 2021

• The qualifying mini-round will begin on May 1st, 2021 (if necessary)

• Main tournament starts on May 24th, 2021

• The format of this tournament is a 4 group stage consisting of 4 people per group, followed by a single elimination bracket of the top 2 people from each group.

If you actually read through any of this forum you would have seen that emulator is banned because it has inaccurate loading times and it's not an official release by Nintendo. There most likely won't be a separate official category for emulator runs but you don't need a leaderboard to run something. I wouldn't be surprised if someone has made an unofficial emulator leaderboard, so you could either look around or make one yourself if one doesn't exist.

Also, don't necropost; it's annoying and there's a reason the thread has been inactive.

That doesn't answer their question as the 3d all stars board doesn't have ILs...

My best guess is it has to do with loading times and language options but I'm not 100% about that.
