GreeceWe could do that but there are some issues. -Base knife is nerfed to the ground compared to re2.That means it will make the fights with nemmy a chore and that takes away all the fun compared to that little aot damage we have from Hotdogger.Honestly base knife doesnt even tickle nemmy -Cabin is becoming also a big reset point in harder difficulties with base knife and that section is already hard even with hotdogger,again really antifun for someone who want to repeat runs again and again.remember this is not a challenge run only it is a speedrun also
-Multi hits knife glitch increases the DA A LOT. By doing this ,trying to kill something with such a high DA will take forever letting alone the reset factor from random grab death. -Last but not least the HUNTERS. Base knife PIERCES the skulls of them 10x times more easily than Hotdogger. Try to fight five Hunters with broken shells making their killing attack to you from every direction in Inferno.Challenging right?Many people ignore this fact even to this day
Imo the Hotdogger was a wise addition to the category 3 years ago from mods making this category viable. I still support this idea
That's cool, i should mention that with controller is significantly harder cause you have to adjust your fingers on the dpad from analog , all in a small time window,and mash properly also. But if you feel confident with it, it's totally fine.
I know how frustrating could it be when you fail it from personal experience ,but eventually you 'll get i. Remeber just slightly tiny faster 4 first with pistol and then 2 with the knife. Rinse and repeat. I ll make a better edited version of the video with even more examples n the future.
Multi_Slashes_Attack after a perfect dodge is the spice of this category. It's a cool trick that makes the category fun , unique, exciting. Stabbing-only Nemmy is so dull you can't imagine cause Slashes from re2r are taken away on this game.
If you don't aim for top3 positions you don't have to worry about the glitch. However people on the above ranks have worked on it, spent few hours in practice to learn to do it properly and trust me they deserve to be there. No one said it will be easy to execute it consistently, at least at first ,though.All you need is practice practice practice until you feel confident. As i have explained also in the yt video, it's a hard to learn (learn the timings mostly) but easier to master trick. Understanding what you press and when is vital. (2 for knife and 4 for pistol are ideal keybinds)
And no it won't be a new category for a weapon cancel animation thing that improves the category in the right direction.

@rpd_chambers ofc it makes sense to start NG with butter knife. First and only lycan you ll actually fight in the hut ,is the first test of 1v1 at these categories. We dont want to transfer the recipes and herbs from a ng+ file, ONLY to buy the karambit from duke ,like picking up Hotdogger from the box if you understand what i mean
If you think 45 minutes -1 hour (literally ) of fighting Moreau without dying is fun , at Hardcore, not even VoS, stick with base knife. If you want to make only ONE or TWO runs making this a challenge run and not a speedrun run, before you quit entirely from this category and hate the game ,go with base knife.If you want some Carpa tunnel at your hand go with base knife.
- Base Knife is suitable for Casual -standard. Nowhere else
- Karambit is suitable for Hardcore/ Village of Shadows.Overpowered in lower diffiulties,but still FUN Many opinions expressed after finishing casual runs ONLY with base knife /casual,should refer to casual runs and not for higher difficulties.

Regular knife is good for Knives Out challenge at Casual Karambit is by far the way to go in anything above Casual and also feels... natural. really. Also we dont like to suffer in an already long run from carpa tunnel by the regular knife, as the karambit alleviates a bit the pain. Game has evolved from the classic games , health of enemies is insanely big from back then ,and regular knife is almost for cosmetic use . Regular knives are nerfed to the ground after re2remake. Many dedicated knife only runners use the Karambit and they do that for a reason.. We dont want higher difficulties to be neglected and left to dust cause of this. I suggest a vote
No I don't spam. When you spam you lose control of jill. Except last one try that I wanted to see how many consecutive hits could I get. It's all about the timing and 'feeling' of the buttons. Feel comfortable with your controller and try to put both of your thumbs at each of the shortcut. Hope I helped!
