I don't think many people check the forums unfortunately also the game is somewhat difficult to get working and record correctly so I guess that could have put some people off. But yeah if you ever wanted to do this again with a game I could try to help get some people involved, ik some people that would be interested in running and someone who can make load removers etc. Could also try contacting a mod on Moistcritikals speedrun discord and get them to post it into the bounty thread or something. Also also could try submiting to the FRONT PAGE PROMOTION REQUEST FORM by META in the tournement forum.
But yeah completely fair I still might do a 100% run anyway just for fun.
Is the 2nd game not worth playing in your opinion? I was actually surprised how un-utilized the mechanics of a game like this are, especially ones with a singleplayer mode.
Any% Beaten by about 5 minutes Quick strat on Charvati you have to reset till you get the planet in the center Solar system though. saves about 4 minutes alone.
Some better routes on other missions. Also I buy Destructo Disks instead of Helix Missiles Oh yeah and strafing is faster than forward backwards movement for some reason.
Thought I'd just mention to any potential runners that you ideally want to set your mouse polling rate to 125 for smooth normal mouse movement. old games where not designed for polling rates higher than this and it will lead to severe mouse movement issues ingame at least I found this out playing some other old games.
Any chance you'd extend this like a week or something? I'll give it a go anyway, just don't have a lot of free time atm. game looks kinda fun ngl
Thanks I might do some runs on 50 fps for now I can clip on that ok. yeah a set fps is good. not a fan of being allowed to change fps mid run. I think some serious sam games have that. kinda turned me off.
2:10 Starbearer run I can't make the jump over that gate. like it looks like I should make it but there's an invis wall or sumthin.
5:59 whaat. are you jumping then placing a box or like placing a box and jumping at the same time? either way I only got this too work on one box once not the like 10 in a row you do here lol.
Also my movespeed in water is like....... 25% of what your getting. Ik fps can effect that in some games but mines locked to 60 so I have no idea.
And finally loading my saves takes up to like 10-20s and when they finish I can get like a super jump or sometimes all the phys objects in the game deload.... yes including doors.
K fixed the movespeed in water, fps wasn't locking properly had to use RivaTuner
There's other useless oob's I found I might share here. but they're not useful. maybe in 100%
Yes you still have to do the 1:20s sniper autoscroller Sadge But you can skip the last 2 mini cutscenes after it plus skip parts of the lead up to it. edited out the Retries of each skip but doing each of the 3, first try would save 40s plus. Capped the game at 90 fps. seems to allow for these funky jumps still but also causes me to walk in vents 50% slower. Uncapped fps 300+ leads to walking in vents 3x as slow, but doesn't effect movement speed at all. still un runnable because you lose like 2 minutes+ to vents alone.
End shows that the next level doesn't bug.
There is a oob in the first level you can do at 144+ fps with a weird super jump that saves like 10s but once again would lose you too much time to vents to be worth it.
figured it out. it's a frame rate issue. on high fps it makes you slow in vents like I assume the devs intended? but on low fps like 60- it allows you to walk at the same speed you to normally uncrouched
Anyway know I gotta see if my other glitches work with low fps.
I know this games pretty much dead but I found about 1.2 minutes worth of new skips.
Unfortunately the fact that I have to slow crawl through all the vents mitigates the time save.
Hi just a couple of dumb questions. Is there any particular reason nobodies done a 100% run of this game? I'm doing some work on Crackdown 3 right now till I can afford an Xbox series X Which leads me into my next question which is the 4k update and running on the newest xbox allowed?
