Welcome to the site, as for games you should run look for games you'd be able to play over and over again.
Ive been trying to come up with ways to record, so far none of my ideas have worked so I may have to wait till I can get a capture card but we'll see.

For me there's been alot of games I've ran as a joke but actually got really into running them, games like Ninjabread Man and Space Chimps, so a tip from me is you never really know which games you'll like to run, it could be a game you never thought would be fun to run for all you know.
For me it would be Super Mario Galaxy 2 242 stars, it took me 20:00:02, I remember regretting speedrunning for that long, it was awful

I've always like to run Mario games, specifically New Super Mario Bros Wii, Ninjabread Man was pretty fun to run as well, it's short, under 4 minutes for any% and under 12 for no major skips, Space Chimps was also pretty fun as well.

A tip I have is to pick a game you like, a game you can play over and over again. You should also practice this game, specifically the hardest levels/tricks (if there are any).
