Seems sound, however I'd like some extra community input and hear if people agree/disagree/have other things to add
you'll need to do multiple video comparisons, comparing DS to WiiU, and the existing WiiU runs to eachother to make sure they're consistent. Then, you'll need to manually time and compare each and every loading screen, add up all the times, see if it indeed is consistent across platforms, so we can say with confidence that WiiU saves X time over X platform.
Feel free to mess around with it, but it doesn't have a spot on these leaderboards. It's non competitive, seen as a meme, and if added should be added after 50cc, 100cc, and mirror get added.
However, I don't plan on adding those until we can import the leaderboard from cyberscore and also for some reason have switched to IGT.
I'm all for RTA. I sped up the video just to show the difference. I could redownload the run, slow it down to whatever the fuck it was, but that's not the point. It's about igt. The game's IGT is not good at all, clearly my run shows this though very exaggerated
Also: lagging making for faster IGT is not uncommon at all. Even lovely planet 2, when played on a lower FPS, gets faster IGTs. It's broken.
It did lag randomly, then I made sure to abuse it to drive my point home
And then require everyone to run it and set it up perfectly so that the visual information from all the capture cards can accurately and without fault be tracked? Yeah definitely doesn't sound difficult at all dang why is nobody doing this seems like something that can be done in a jiffy

- No, it wouldn't be.
- Yep, and a lot of IGTs are calculated wrongly as well (sigh) we'd have to estimate IGT based on the RTA at that point because I wouldn't want to push out the old runs.

You'd have to add them all up manually and converting old times will be suffering. Combine that with making sure the runs are legit without vid + taking no breaks and that's why RTA is/was the main timing. This change would apply to at least all the cups, though I would want 32T and all the cups to be on the same timing method.
@cros107 gl doing that with 32 tracks lol Also there's a lot of submissions to go through and check, this would take a lot of time. It would also mean non accurate leaderboards, as guessing IGT from RTA would be an approximation.

I feel like it'd take a lot away from the speedrun to have to calculate IGT of 63 segments either during the run or after the run. If there's anyone who wants to do a comparison to see how much time each platform saves over others, I wouldn't mind correcting the times in all missions to be equal to 1 platform. I don't want this to be like Ocarina of Time where you need the fastest console.
Hey yall I just verified a bunch of SB's runs and I saw that the timing different between wiiu vc and normal DS is completely bullshit I've been fixing it manually before this, but honestly I don't think this is the right call, especially now that more runs seem to be done on wii u vc.
is it time to switch to igt?

@Imaproshaman I'm not ashamed of it, I'm just way less proud of it, when my MKDD times are my main thing (technically not even since Time Trials (which aren't on this site) are taken way more seriously than Grand Prix is)

The RTA accuracy is completely wack, yes, also on drastic. I'm not going to deal with that and add 40s to a run just to make it comply with "standard" rta timing.
If you really wanted to play MKDS, there's Wii U VC, there's cheap DSes out there, esp when combining it with an R4 card. I do allow emulator from PC since those seem to be more accurate RTAwise (still inaccurate so I don't prefer these at all, especially not in top 10 or top 5).
