https://www.speedrun.com/redfaction - I'm obviously biased, but Red Faction (1) is a great game, with a great community of speedrunners who are all constantly finding new skips, tricks, and strategies.

In general, if you have a video, upload it to YouTube and submit it.

Whether specific aspects of the video are acceptable for a run would depend on the game. If I were you, and if the game was on the site already, I would ask that question to its moderators.

Yeah, exactly - record a segment, then quicksave, quickload as many times as necessary to get a good next segment, quicksave, repeat.

Can you have multiple quicksaves at one time?

Also is there a listing anywhere of currently known strats/skips in the game? Specifically any quicksave/quickload tricks?

On the advice of the crew over at the Speedrun.com Discord, I included load times in the run because there's no precise way to track game time (as compared to real time) in Astray. That being said, I manually measured in my video editing software the length of the run minus the time lost to load screens and provided that time as "Time without loads" on the leaderboard, in addition to the "Time with loads" as shown below - I encourage you to do the same. :)

Time without loads: 17m 10s 030ms Time with loads: 17m 57s 910ms

Good luck with the run! :) I'm really happy to see someone else interested in running this game, and I hope you're able to find some skips I missed.

PS. For segmented runs (which I've been planning on doing one of), just cut out the load times entirely. ;)
