ScotlandSo I’ve just come back after a long break I find two new times at the top of the PAL leaderboard. I noticed they were done in the NES classic, and if you watch the runs it can be seen that it is not in fact the PAL version. It is NTSC. The giveaways are the music is slower than real PAL and that at the end of 4-1, the top player gets a 40 on the timer, when in real PAL you always get a 41 and receive a firework. I urge the mods to check this out and hopefully make a decision on how to run the leaderboard with the NES classic PAL version, which again, is not the real PAL version. Cheers
So i read that in PAL, fast accel. does not work as it is faster to run on the ground, does this mean you'll lose less frames in PAL if you hit the bottom block of the flagpole compared to NTSC? Does this also mean in PAL, in more levels is it not a time loss to hit the bottom block instead of the top. Interested as i run PAL
In most PAL games, they are slower for speed running than the NTSC version, is this true for this game? I am having trouble trying to improve my time and was wondering how much slower it would be, if any slower at all. Cheers
I run the PAL version of this game as i live in the UK. I know there is an FPS difference which changes the strats for certain levels, but it also seems to change things such as the one frame goomba jump in 8-1 and the 1 frame jump in 8-4 room 2, which both seem arbitrarily easy. How many frames do you have to make these jumps in the PAL version as I recommend doing these strats to those on PAL as it eliminates a pipe jump in 8-1 and is just generally faster in 8-4. Cheers
I wish to submit a run for 24 exit and i am using PAL hardware is there any reason there is no way to select PAL fr the region or can it be added. Cheers
I have been learning to speedrun this came and have come to 8-2. The first jump up the staircase is supposedly a "piece of cake" yet I struggle to get it at all. Any tips greatly appreciated
