I've gotten word from the Desmume forum! They've suggested using the 0.9.12 version of the emulator, and I can confirm the game works fine and is playable on that!!

Can we speedrun this game on the 0.9.12 version of Desmume instead?

Hi again! I was planning to try this with Desmume 0.9.11, however, the game suffers from a massive graphical issue during battles when run with this Emulator and is in an unplayable condition. I've done some research and couldn't find a way to fix the issue, and I've yet to hear from the Desmume forum about it.

I've heard this issue does not occur in NO$GBA. Would it be alright to have a speedrun of this game using that emulator instead?
