Well, always testing the rules I see... The current ones would forbid it with "Geometry (3D models) modification are not allowed".

It would be reasonable to accept this, but if we start to accept 3D Models modifications, it can become very complicated to handle the diverse cases and that would be why I would like to stick to the very strict rule about it.

Like what if someone drives a kart with a weird 3D Model (or I don't know, a Nintendo character model) that yet has the same Hitboxes as a standard kart, or if someone wants to change Bananas to another Model, etc, it would make the verifications more complex and subjective.

Just because the company is dead does not mean that one can use freely what they produced... A "recreation" is a derivative work and will not escape to the need of a formal permission... So in theory there could be copyright claims, unless the Stk Team got formal permission from the creator(s)... In practice of course I doubt that anyone will annoy us, but I would also like to have only free stuff in Stk Addons. I would also like to have only "pure Stk" tracks here.

So I am adding the explicit rule that only original tracks can be added to Stk Addons, either from old versions of Stk, or created from scratch. So no imports from other games, nor tracks inspired from other games' tracks, even if the assets are free. For this reason I change my decision about Mod Circuit and remove it from Stk Addons. Additionally, all material (textures, music...) must be free. I am aware that there might be a few things Cc Non Commercial, this can be accepted for now, but I will try to replace them until Addons 2.

The track has nice modern and polished (unlike Mod Circuit) graphics and is a (remake of a) former Official Stk Track, but that is the only positive I can say about this track.

I find it way too simple personally, and being that short is aggravating this issue (if you look at Beam Runner's or Origami Animosity's Minimaps, you might think that these tracks are too simple too, yet they are pretty nice to run Imo)... Also when I race the other tracks with Sub 20 s Laps, Secret Garden and Bovine Barnyard, I feel that they are much better. And like Mars Park I feel that there should be more stuff in the background. Also we already have 2 "Race Track" themed tracks, even though they are not the best personally (but Imo Racetrack Remake is the worst of the 3)... There should be a track that merge the positive of these 3 tracks and Las Dunas Lol...

So I have to reject this proposition, sorry.

Thank you for understanding and your words. I confess that it ultimately comes down to personal taste (like I really don't feel Paradise Peaks and Beehive any empty). That said I also include tracks I am not a fan like Mod Circuit or Voxel Village. Sadly, unlike for Runs submissions, there cannot be precise rules for Tracks Proposals so I am sorry if my decisions can seem arbitrary sometimes. Though, I consider seriously all the propositions and build, consider and weight opinions for and against inclusion in order to make the final decision.

Wow, I did not notice that Reverse is disabled by default... Usually I test Reverse 1 or 2 times after testing Normal, but somehow I totally forgot about Reverse for this one. I updated the Assets to include the change you mentioned and now Reverse is built-in. Sorry about that...

Mod Circuit added. However Afaik the music is non free, and I am very picky about this, so I changed it. Very surprising that the Stk Team let this pass, it is like adding an Addon with a Mario Kart Ost... Nothing prevents you to put back the original, though.

For Mars Park, unfortunately it looks too empty, there should be much more stuff in the background/outside the road, even if we think about a track in a desert planet (in this case the area is not even supposed to be desert). And it is too reminiscent of Xr591. In contrast, pairs like Ravenbridge Mansion/BlackHill Mansion, Zen Garden/Secret Garden, or Cornfield Crossing/Bovine Barnyard feature very distinct tracks despite following a common theme. That is also the spirit of the Mod, to have tracks that are distinct from the standard ones. Here, maybe you have a totally different (and cool) road, but it's also the same textures and 3D structures like the towers and the glass tunnel... So sorry, I cannot add this track.

Rules say that "Rules changes are in general not retroactive, unless it gives older runs unfair and significant advantages" and 3-5 Ticks is not a significant advantage so no need to retime older runs as we accepted these glitches before (but we can if we want).

However for new runs, this must be taken in account. As a reminder, the rule is "The true elapsed time is considered. If a glitch altered the shown time at the finish screen, an adjustment will be done to reflect the actual elapsed time. In this case, the first reference time will be the time shown at the left just before the finish screen, next to the character's icon, if it has ms precision. Else, the adjustment will be on a case-by-case basis, for example, by adding 1/24 s to the final time in the case of the Checkline Bug."

I think the only reason to include SubSea would be because it was a Standard Track in the past, however that is not enough (Shiny SubUrbs is not included as well); unless someone revamps it I am not going to include it.

I can include Mod Circuit, but I would prefer to wait that it gets some polishing. If there are no big updates for soon, I can include it anyway given the interest (but as always it will be frozen and any update will have to wait Stk 2)...

I was wondering if someone here still wanted SubSea as it was a subject of discussion some time ago (and as there were requests to fix it). I guess that we can just forget this track.

The day either this track satisfies me, or people pressure me here, I will add Mod Circuit :p It just needs some polishing for the first case...

Nitro Island included and no longer an "Uao" :p Though, I wonder if an exploit could be doable here... Now if there are no plans of fixing this, I can still include it as these problems are not too major, but that as usual means that any fixes will have to wait Addons 2... And eventually, someone should update these ugly glass tunnels... Mod Circuit... Well Ok, after comparing with Race Track, whose Off Road does not slows down as well, I can eventually include it (but Off Road not slowing down is more a bug than anything else... That should really be fixed eventually). But I would at least wait first that it is no longer "being worked on, bugs to be fixed" as it is clearly not finished (faraway objects appearing over nearer things, inconsistent grass around the road, weak barriers...)... You are also the only one who wants it and Stk Addons should not become filled with hundreds of tracks that only one person wants and will run...

Don't worry, I have backups so no problem... Indeed, this instance is unreliable at times, I will consider migrating to another one if the problem persists... Good point about things that are no longer available, after all in 10 years maybe many videos will no longer be accessible... Things already verified can indeed stay, there does not seem to be any significant drawbacks... Added "A verified run whose proof is no longer accessible will remain, but when possible, the submitter should update the link or reupload the proof."

Imo, the track feels kinda cheap and broken in its current form... It's "Stk Addons", not "Stk Imports"; keeping the original properties could be fine, but here I think that there should at least be some more adaptations to make the track more in accordance with Stk. Also not really a fan of the "Nitro inside Boxes" stuffs... So personally, if there are no plans to change the track in this direction, I don't find it suitable for the Mod. Now, maybe I am the only one to think that, so if people here want this track, I can still include it.

I think that it is natural that the Gps should be played without modification, so I am not going to state this explicitly, unless people want this... Like Andet said, it is changing the Gp, similarly to changing the minimum points requirements in the Story Mode, so changing the order should not be allowed. In game, you cannot even edit the Gp and need to copy it to a new one with another name, which obviously gives something that cannot be considered as the original IL. The order can be changed for All Tracks Gp, but as you are supposed to create the Gp yourself, it is logical to allow this here.

Personally I would prefer to let things like they are now. But I found a suitable way to handle this situation so I did the change anyway and now you can distinguish these runs in this track. Use the filter function to choose Glitches or not. The idea to freeze tracks once they are included will always remain. But running the track without the glitches would be effectively like running the fixed version if there are no complex changes, which is what you want if I understood.

Removed specific rule for 1.0 ILs: "The Nessie's Pond glitch that allows to get a time of 0:00.000 is banned, as well as any similar glitch that gives a very broken time at the end (but you can use the ones in Oliver's Math Class or Volcan Island that save 1/24 s for example)." For example, if Hacienda had the bug, we would have put 1:30.658 for the latest Theodore Pringle's run (time shown next to the icon). Note that the rule changes are not retroactive, but feel free to update the older runs anyway if you wish. In this case, an example, the current Oliver's Math Class will become 59.334 + 1/24 = ~59.376. No need to round to the 1/120 after. You will also need to rewatch and update the Gps I think :p .

I also changed the rule for submissions: not longer requiring videos for runs 10% or more worse than the current record. This may encourage new players to run the game, especially if they have even laggier computers than Wax'. I am also telling that Live Runs are preferred and could be required in the future (fun fact, if you were absolutely rigorous, built-in ghosts are actually faked as I saw a commit where the Ghost version was altered from 0.10 to 1.0, so their Uid should no longer be valid Lol)

Removed: "A video is required for all submissions. For now, ghost replays are allowed for ILs." "If we cannot see a valid time, we will reject your run" (regarding Ghost Replays) Added: "Record (1st place) and any run having a time less than 10% worse require a video for submission. Else, runs with times at least 10% worse than the current record don't need any proof (though try to provide a screenshot link in the description if you cannot provide a video). We however reserve the right to reject runs without proof if there are suspicion of abuse of this rule. For now, ghost replays videos are allowed for ILs, but this may be subject to change in the future and Live recordings are always preferred." "If we cannot see a valid time, we will add a penalty time of 0.1 s."

Ghost Files are actually simpler to falsify than a Live Recording. My opinion was always to only accept Live Recordings for top submissions. In another hand, I would not even bother requiring a video (a screenshot would be enough) for runs that are something like 5 s worse than the current record for an IL or 5 minutes for a Story Mode run... Past a certain threshold, anyone could make such times with not much effort...

Such discussions deserve their own thread, so let's open it! Looks like there is interest in including Nitro Island and Powder Rush to the Mod? If they don't have any issue and are ready to be frozen, I can add them soon...

I just changed the rule regarding the Story Mode Timer for 1.x, which now requires the Built-In Timer for 1.1+ (or the Official Timer Mod for 1.0). Now that it is an official feature, it is reasonable to require it as nobody is either going to use an external timer for 1.1 nor run 1.0 without the Timer Mod... And it will make everything easier for everyone.

"- You must use the built-in speedrun timer in 1.1 and more recent (and the official Timer Mod for 1.0) with ms precision, which must become pure green once the run is finished. It measures the real time without loading times."

I also moved the 0.9.3 Android category to the Category Extensions...
