I don't run this game, but I'm somewhere between 1) and 2). The problem I see with the Resolution Toggle is that it requires editing configuration files outside of the game, which in my opinion should never be allowed in any speedrun. Some games allow you such extensive editing (simply open a text file and delete a few lines) that you only have to play 1 mission instead of 20+ :)

As for allowing Dxtory - that would make it TAS, because you use a 3rd party tool to affect the game's behaviour. Some communities allow it (Fallout 4 for example) to have more fair competition and easier skips, which I don't agree with. PC speedrunning will never be fair and people with faster PCs will always have an advantage :( The only time I would allow Dxtory is to lock the framerate of a game to fix some issues that happen with too high fps.

From what I've tested about a year ago, 10-11 hours is possible, depending on RNG (you can skip some races in long tournaments if you have enough points). I also have a some sort of route if you're interested.

CPU is usually the bottleneck in low resolution/details.

Also edited the part about cars. Bonus cars are of course allowed since you can buy them in Career.

I thought about Any% and 100% categories, but if you don't get gold medals in every cup, you don't really achieve anything and you don't unlock Tournament of Champions. There's no message, no credits, no cutscene, just nothing, so in my opinion you don't finish the Career this way. However, I think we could create a new category or subcategory that wouldn't require you to get all golds, but it would definitely not be called Any%

That's hard to say since the current original D3 run is really outdated. I guess maybe couple minutes?

Well, you can use source-port for BFG edition, which has skippable cutscenes, thus it's faster. The question is if you want to use an unofficial version for speedrunning.

original D3 - skippable cutscenes, barrel boost, slower movement without stamina, archvile jump, long loading times, 60fps lock. BFG - unskippable cutscenes, no barrel boost, faster movement without stamina, no archvile jump, fast loading times, 120fps.

Someone correct me if something is wrong/not true.

I would include both timers.

I'd rather see NG+ championships with any unlockable car (probably P205).

Individual stages would be nice.

Someone comes up with valid arguments about an upcoming rules change and because that person is not a part of this community and never ran the game, you immediately dismiss everything he/she says without even thinking about it for a second. But hey, you are the mod of this game, so you must know what's best and only you know who has "information" about this game, right? :) Please don't be that naive and arrogant.
