Hey guys I'm really new to the speedrunner's world. I am also and software developer. I would love to get into speed running, but a lot of the games I love to run don't allow emulation. So I was thinking about creating a speedrunners emulator. first, start with NES, and hopefully make emulators that HAVE to run like the original software. What do you all think? good idea or am I out of my mind?

Really just want to know what is a good start to speedrunning and how is emulation viewed by the community. I only have a Raspberry pi 4 with RetroPi on it (lost all my old consoles is a robbery back in 2016). and haven't been able to replace them.
