Out of curiosity, how would the duplication glitch affect normal mode runs, and would this make people interested in routing normal mode more extensively?
How so? Also, Nightbarrel, O-den's run is about 11:30 and has at least 30 minutes to an hour of mistakes in the first couple of dungeons so I'm guessing 10:00 could be easily obtainable. I haven't really looked into how clean their mid and end game is yet. I've been trying to work on this more but school and work piled up fast so my routing is basically only up to the second dungeon.
Not sure if this is still relevant but I've been working on making a route that fuses Ghoul's route and O-den's route, with O-den being the Japanese runner that actually finished a run. If anyone is still working on this, I'd be down to compare notes. I haven't had a whole lot of time recently but I've been trying to buckle down and finish this once and for all.
What is the fastest version of the game to play on? on top of that, is there any way to play an older version?
I didn't see a run with video (if there is one and I missed it, sorry), and because everyone is on emu, does anyone run with the actual dance pad and game or is it just input based with emu and a regular controller? If not, how did you hook up the dance pad to dolphin
Welp, there's a one fight route through the maze \o/ and it wasn't even found by a runner
Wait, an unnecessary fight? When did I have an unnecessary fight?
It's more so the really solid gameplay that saves time in the TAS, not the specific parts. A better comparison would be between how quickly the TAS deals damage with charges, bombs, pods, etc. Plus the WR is pretty unoptimized. The WR has changed since this conversation started by quite a bit, and most of the damage/time saved in runs is due to straight up playing better/rng manipulation. The any% run uses the 3-way at melee range (practically touching) optimally. Some of the battles in the run are nearing TAS level consistency, but they are few and far between.
Can we end the timer when the screen fades to black at the end of the Rahu III fight? It seems a bit unnecessary to end the timer after a minute or so of text mashing. The game is pretty much over after the Rahu fight and there is no significant game play after that.
