@Dwagon the current verification queue for minecraft is 1518 runs long and goes back to November last year. Its highly likely that htis person has submitted runs and hasn't got them verified
https://www.minecraftspeedrunning.com/public-resources/mods
Lazy stronghold v1.1.1 is also allowed for 1.16
Pauses only count against you if your run is supposed to be retimed because its a sub 13. otherwise it wont cost you any time
From the speedrun.com rules:
"A minimum effort requirement is reasonable. It is recommended to at a minimum accept a first playthrough done in one sitting with an intention of playing the category quickly.
Runs that are clearly not making an effort to beat the game's category quickly may be rejected."
A run that goes slow because its someones first attempt is completely fine, but if someone afk's for an hour at the end of each kingdom thats a different matter
1.18 is still more or less the same route... just with worse trading rates and lack of ocean ravene to make a portal with
- what is "the intended way"
- why would anyone play this? its just any% but arbitrarily slower by throwing in unskippable cutscenes?
https://www.speedrun.com/smoce/thread/ze0h9
that would never hit main board, but if you have an intention to write up a rule set (starting from fresh / postgame and timing etc) and submit a run, then do feel free to submit a request and it could potentially end up on category extensions
Cjay is correct, but to expand on that:
1.0 glitches save in the region of ~50s, but when smo was updated from 1.2 to 1.3 the load times got faster and save over 55s overall.
This means that 1.3 digital is faster than 1.0 and is easier because you dont have to do glitches that can go wrong.
You can still use 1.0 if you wish as all the glitches are allowed, but it is not recommended.
thats just nipple% but marginally more tedious
yes they were removed on august 6th in a vote of 108-9 held on the discord
the screen needs to be clearly visible KilleDragon, glare is hiding everything or the screen is too far away from the camera or anything along those lines then it can potentially be rejected
it would be allowed, but it might not be helpful. there are times where demo dashing directly loses time compared to a regular dash.
most runners have one+ dash button and then a separate demo button because of this
balloon world cannot be in any category - main board or extension board. This is because:
balloon world might not be around forever it can be manipulated if you have more viewers helping you - this benefits larger streamers
additionally, i'm not sure many runners would even want to play balloon world if it was optimal
@koma typically it means things like minimum dashes or grabs. https://www.speedrun.com/celeste_category_extensions
the category extension boards have grabless, but due to the high difficulty of minimum dashes it isn't a category yet - that and lack of interest
@Reddy_is_amazing because its the same game, there aren't version differences that affect gameplay between physical and digital.
if you mean 2/3 videos then probably. if you mean hundreds of small videos then no - obviously there's a grey area here, but i'd recommend joining the discord to ask the mods there
you might want to try using your phone as a camera or a cheap webcam connected to a pc/laptop. a full recording is required as thats the only way to verify the time
glitches in any% are so minimal - lake clip, snow clip and fish clip make up maybe 20s if you're being generous with rounding. it makes no sense to have a different category
learn search skip in temple because its easy and saves a lot of time, beyond that there are tutorials on youtube by programmatic that are very good if there's one level in particular you're struggling with but for subhour you should just playthrough each level a few times to get familliar with it and you should get under an hour relatively easily
everyone has access to motion controls. a switch comes with joycons.
