I want a category where both "- Provide a category where movement optimization and basic gameplay are highlighted more than specific tricks." and "- A category that do a good job of showcasing both the content of the game and also many different tricks." are true.. Sounds like No major glitches fits the bill. Leve double bash in there, its not that hard to do anymore, maybe do a guide on the forum so people can learn it, or a troubleshooting thread... Its probobly easier to do sorrows bash that way then any other. As to what elements of the game the category should complete, i like: "all world events"

I am also not intrested to run the current categories of Ori DE, so ill be looking into this. Your set of rules sound good, what about using explsion to unlock energy walls early (fronky walk)?

I did a post of this some time ago, and I noticed the video was cut and hardly showed any of the intresting parts... So, here is a new one. Was a better run over all as well :)

So all skills, avoiding to take feather.

Normal run until you have taken stomp, then go take light bomb instead of charge flame. Then take charge flame. Then go into misty woods for climb.

Here are some parts that are different from a normal run (so you dont have to watch all of the video): 36:00 You use save anywhere and get past the trigger where kuro is supposed to kill you, entering misty woods. Save anywhere is because, if you dont use it, you cant save afterwards. Dont know if picking up climb fix that or not.

In misty woods, you need 4 HP, so you can damage boost on the spikes during 41:35.

50:40 Use light bomb on the wall when that laser goes live, then dash of it.

56:30 Use boulder and double bash a lot.

1:01:15 Use spider shot and double bash a lot.

1:04:00 Just airdash out, dont fall into kuro-kill trigger :)

1:13:24 Final escape. When destroying the wall, jump rigth before you release charge flame.

Me and my friend used to play an "Intended%" as we called it in vanilla, was a lot of fun, why? Great for races, because there were no tricks that were so important that if you failed them, the race was over. And it was a lot of fun to play the game very similar to the first playthrough you did. It was also kinda "chill" because it wasent so damn hard :). So I would actually prefer something like that, but if thats impossible..

  2. But if it were done then I would like to see Double bashing gone in order to make it more welcoming for a bigger playerbase to be competetive, and as far as i see it, seems like a big glitch. I have no idéa why Iceless would not be allowed if strictly thinking about "glitchless", but its not a trick I wanna do, so in that sense, gone :P. Id like to see fronkywalk gone simply for variance in the route, and its also a glitch right?

Something we discussed about this however is the fact that it would probobly be a nightmare for those confirming the video would it not? Do they have to watch the entire thing for someone cheating, it does it work by random watchers making reports if someone happend to do a banned trick? Obviously accidental tricks if nothing is gain from them should not be punished.

/edit: I should probobly specify what our "intended%" was: Basicly everything you listed was forbidden exept bashgliding, disable ui, breaking barriers with enemy projectiles i belive. You also had to do misty woods and forlorn ruins before sorrows pass.

cool : ) sounds insane to do. I have not tried any% at all, so dont know the tricks in that run

I dont know if this has been done before, complete ori without picking up kuros feather.

The run i made to showcase the tricks:

It can be much improved, and you could run it as a any% run. You need tripple jump for this run. (the run i did to showcase isnt that good, so Im gonna list when i did the tricks succesfully.

At the moment i run it as an All Skills run, up untill about 22 minutes is. Here you trigger the Kuro cutscen, then you use double bash to get into sorrows pass.

23:50 next trick. Use the wall and glide down, in order to make the lasers be timed right, then have the enemy shoot at you and bash of that projectile.

Make sure you pick up 2 skillcells in sorrows pass.

32:12 is next trick to get past the laser.

Dont let the frog destroy the floor to the right, it will make your job harder.

37:48 next trick. I put the frog as far to the left as possible, otherwise he can easily mess up for you. I also got lucky with the boulder just rolling into place, normally i have it shot up the roof then grab it and move it there myself.

38:55 You can do this even if the floor is gone by bashing the frog into the roof then using doublebash to the right and grab him midair. A lot of doublebashes.

43:00 time to use the boulder to get to the top. It seems you have to doublebash it a few times at the top, the air is kind of weak there so you dont gain hight otherwise.

47:37 use tripplejump to get out. you dont need to take damage :P

1:05:00 I had a lot of trouble with this for some reason. Get the fish out of the water, use double bash if needed. Then doublebash away to the tree and escape!
