"1. Big jump from start position
Right after the start you're in a state called restricted 3D and you can't do the shortcut like that, 
therefore go forward in the stage a bit and you'll gain full 3D.
Use the slope and you should be fine if you get higher than the most distant roof.
Here we use a trick called M speed.
Do airboost, slide(or JSS) and then jump(M-speed)
After that, airboost and return to the path. After you get higher than the roof, cancel M-speed.
Shift direction and go to the original path. If you drift around there you'll gain full 3d.
If you use a backwards M-speed you can perform it without turning the camera.
You do it the same way as before, airboost, slide(or JSS) and then jump, backwards M-speed.
By the way if you step on the part of the ground marked with red you will return to limited 3d again so be careful.
Next I will explain how to do the big jump.
If you rub the wall as you go forward you get obstructed on a certain spot.
We use that to launch ourself.
Airboost, slide(or JSS), M speed and left qss.
The preparations for M-speed: Have the joystick fixated until you jump.
Airboost, stomp (JSS), M speed, QSS to the left.
When you got used to M speed you can do it without turning the camera.
Except for that you can't do the setup for M speed in advance, this process is exactly the same.
After airboosting your visual point will automatically be focused on where you're going.
Have the analogstick directly in M-speed position.
Have a sense of how you build up a QSS on the top of the slope.
After that you fly without interrupting the M-speed. (Quite turned to the left)
The right route is where the red line is, so aim for that.
On both sides of the route there are two somewhat tall invisible walls, and if you're late with adjusting yourself you'll get shut out, so be careful.

"Explanation 2: Clock tower skip
After avoiding the springs with a small hop you turn the analogstick to right to gain height.
If you don't do that you'll hit an invisible wall.
Then you do a QSS to not fall down. (The first boost was used to first gain speed. (?))
Aim at the roof that the arrow is pointing at.
If you aim for the part marked with red you'll be able to return to the normal route.
The part marked with yellow is bad. And I'll explain why.
Also if you don't stop wallrunning you won't be released so you can do QSS with a margin. (?)
However if you enter the yellow one, you'll be stopped by an invisible wall and it will be difficult to get back in.
If that happens you can get back in by going back a bit. (There isn't a lot of foothold so be careful)

	There are 4 types of speed glitches in Unleashed so far. 2D superspeed 3D M-speed BGJ (Break Jump Glitch) BJG3D (Break Jump Glitch in 3D areas).

	To do a speed glitch in 2D areas (superspeed/D-speed) you need to hold an angle on your stick equal to the slow sonic movement. You can find the angle quickly by stopping the sonic in 2D area and find the spot on stick when sonic is slowly moving.

	Q:Why is superspeed working the UP & DOWN way ? 
	A:Because it was the spot with sonic slowest movement in that area. 

To do a speed glitch in 3d space (M-Speed) hold stick direction in about 50% of overall stick velocity (sonic walking) and finally for BGJ you need to hold movement on a stick just very slightly. Just 1-5% of the overall velocity (sonic barely walking or not moving at all).  This can be performed only in 3D to 2D area connections. 
	Warning: some glitches can freeze your console(check out the video above) Last two glitches can be performed after sneaking or QSS. In some cases you can help yourself with B/O button while performing the actions written above. By holding slide/stomp button you can change the performance of a speed glitch .

Night Stages Tutorials

Guide for gtw (go through walls) by DsS:
In order to go through walls or the floor, you must perform the follwing combo, followed by guarding...
For 360, XYY followed by guarding
For ps3, square-triangle-triangle followed by guarding
The timing of your guard depends on what will happen.  You want to guard when werehog finishes the spinning part of his breakdance like attack.  If you time it correctly, you can go through most any wall.  If you time it too late, you'll go through the floor (which can be useful in some places, but usually you just fall to your doom).
In order to go through walls or the floor, you must perform the follwing combo, followed by guarding...

Guide for aerial ledge grab by DsS:
In order to be able to grab a ledge after performing an uppercut, all you have to do is one of these 2 combos in the air: 
For 360, XXY or YYX followed by the jump button
For ps3, square-square-triangle or triangle-triangle-square followed by the jump button

Activate goal ring storage (so XXA into the goal ring, then die or ledge grab)
Grab enemy, jump
Advance result screen until levelups & quit button
Run off the stage to die
(Die more times to get to 1 life)
Put your cursor to "Quit"
Run off the stage
After Sonic is done screaming, confirm the Quit action (the game will save when your life count has transitioned from 1 to 0 )
You'll be ported to the world map with 5 lives, but if you restart the game, it'll load you at 0 lives

Sonic Unleashed Emulator Rules

1. Approved Emulators

Use either **Xenia Canary** or **RPCS3**. Any version is fine, but it is recommended to stick to the latest version, or the version that work best on your PC. Ensure the game looks similar enough to the original.

## 2. Framerate Settings

Set your framerate to **30FPS or 60FPS**. It's not required, but highly recommended to display your framerate. You can use V-sync to make sure that framerate it limited.

## 3. Run Type

Emulators are allowed for **full game runs** only in their relevant subcategory. Emulator runs **should not** be submmited to the console leaderboard. ILs on emulators are not supported at the moment and will be rejected.

## 4. Allowed Mods

The following mods are optional and allowed to use:

a) **"[Performance Enhancement Unleashed](https://gamebanana.com/mods/464446)**" - May help and may not, feel free to try it.

b) **["Sonic Unleashed Fixes"](https://gamebanana.com/mods/361287) -** The files in "dlcfixesmanualpatch" are necessary for Xenia to load Windmill Isle Act 1-2 Day. This mod also changes the layout in some other stages slightly, so keep that in mind.

c)  **["AMD Grass Explosion Fix"](https://gamebanana.com/mods/393182)** - This mod seems necessary for people with AMD GPU, and gives no advantage.

d) "**[Remove Motion Blur](https://gamebanana.com/mods/345352)**" - This mod is the equivalence of RPCS3's patch "Disable Motion Blur", so it will be allowed to use.

You may install any of these mods manually or by using [Unleashed Mod Manager](https://gamebanana.com/tools/6765).

Feel free to contact a moderator on Discord if you think of any other mods are essential. The goal is to improve playability while remain as close as possible to the original game.

## 5. Xenia Users

For Xenia, you can use any community patches, including the **60FPS unlock**. You can press **F5** to clean caches.

## 6. RPCS3 Users

Default settings are usually fine for RPCS3. Refer to the [RPCS3 wiki](https://wiki.rpcs3.net/index.php?title=Sonic_Unleashed) for additional settings. Ensure your framerate limit is **60/30** and not unlocked.

## 7. Tutorial for setting up Xenia

Keep in mind that if you're using Vulkan, you'll want to set "1280x720 Resolution" patch to False

Tips and tricks for category runs
