1. Set up P-06 for Speedrunning

Welcome to Sonic Project '06 Speedrunning! To get started, watch this video which covers:

2. Setting up Livesplit

FilipIsCold created a guide on how to set up LiveSplit for P-06! It covers

- Downloading Livesplit
- Creating Splits
- Setting up Autosplitter by Ero. The Game Name MUST be one of the following:

               -Sonic Project 06

               -Sonic Project '06

               -Sonic P06

               -Project '06

3. Obtaining (Mostly) Infinite Lives

As a community, we decided that lives shouldn't be a factor when Speedrunning Project 06. Therefore, unless it is a 100% category, you are allowed to use a save that has (mostly) infinite lives. There are 2 ways to do this that doesn't require grinding 1-ups in the game for hours:

- Download a Save File from the Speedrun Database (Link: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1UR6Nldhh-Wt5s8sscHP7fFb7Hd56pILdcMiGMmYuNXk/edit?usp=sharing). Details on how to add/replace/remove saves are outlined in the "Setting up Sonic Project 06 for Speedrunning" guide.
- Using Cheat Engine to add lives on your own save. Sly Sonic created a tutorial on this, which you can find below https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t9ZCxZCMhfw

4.  Set up P-06 for Recording with OBS

To learn how to record/stream your P-06 gameplay with Open Broadcast Software (OBS), watch this video starting at 3:21! Specifically, It covers:

5. Submitting Your Run to the Leaderboards

Submitting to speedrun.com is pretty easy. You can either follow the video here (0:00 for Full Story, 0:46 for Individual Level), and/or read below:



  • On the Sonic Project 06 page, click the green "Submit Run" button above the 

     leaderboard.

                      ○ For Individual Levels, chose the level you are submitting to from the

                        dropdown list above "Sonic, Shadow, Silver, All Stories" then hit 

                        "Submit Run".



   • Choose both the Story (Sonic, Shadow, Silver, or All Stories) and style of that

     story (ex. Any%, Gemless, 100%, etc).



   • Enter Run times.

                     ○ For Full game, both the Load Removed Time and Real Time Attack 

                        are required. We currently run to the nearest one hundredth 

                        millisecond, so put a placeholder zero in the thousandths place. 

                         (ex. if your time was 22m 15s 15ms, you would put 22m, 15s, 150ms).

                     ○ For help on running with a Loadless timer using LiveSplit, Filip made 

                         an awesome tutorial covering that ⁠in Guide #2.

                     ○  For Individual Levels, Only the Load Removed Time is

                          Required, leave Real Time Attack blank.



     •  Copy/paste your video url with the run. Instructions on what the video must

         contain are in the category rules for each run.



     • Put a description if you wish (I always put POG cause my runs are POG, I think 

       anyway).



     • Hit the green "Submit" button at the bottom.



     • Then you're done! A moderator will verify your run soon, or reject with with a

99. (OLD)Autosplitter + IGT Timer

An autosplitter is now available for those who wish to run the RTA categories. In Livesplit, right click and select "Edit Splits".

Directly underneath the attempts, click the button that says "Activate". If you wish to start your splits manually, click "Settings" and uncheck the "Start" option.  If you wish to split manually, uncheck the "Split" option.

Afterward, you should receive a message that in order to use the Autosplitter, you must switch your Livesplit's comparison to In-Game Time. Select "Yes".
The autosplitter will then automatically split every time the "MISSION COMPLETED" text appears on the screen in-game, and will automatically time out Loads.
