¤Do the level and replay for the warp
¤¤If you get glitch girl in a level where there is a warp zone, meat boy will be placed on the warp after exiting or completing the glitch level

Get the warp during the section unless otherwise mentioned. If glitch girl appears before the farming section the farm is obviously not necessary.
			
Possible route improvements:

- After 3-7warp go to 3-5x instead of 3-1x, do 2-7x with meat boy and do 3-1x after naija is unlocked (saves 5+ seconds)
- 3-11 - 3-12 with Josef (saves ~5 seconds)
- Do 5-1warp normally with naija (saves up to 2 seconds)
- Skip 3-16warp when doing factory. Do dark factory after you have completed dark hell and dark rapture, do 3-16warp with steve after 3-20x (Saves 5 seconds but introduces a possibility to crash the game (machine dependent))

Other reasonable route changes (not all are compatible with each other):

- After finishing 2-8 go to 2-5x warp and do rest of light hospital. Do the whole light factory without completing any dark levels. Next do 3-1x - 3-8x warp. Naija will be unlocked, use her to complete rest of dark factory. Do the rest of dark hospital with naija and continue to hell normally. (Saves ~10 seconds to the given route, disallows 3-8x farm and doing 3-1x with naija)
- Chapters from dark factory to dark rapture can be reordered (no or minimal time loss)
- Farm in 3-11x instead of 3-8x (loses about 5 seconds on average but makes terrible farms less common)
- Farm 4-9 with either naija or meat boy (makes the farm slightly slower)
- When doing rapture skip 5-1 and 5-1warp. Do them when doing dark rapture (loses ~0.25 seconds but allows a possibility for 5-1 glitch girl saving 10+ seconds
- 5-3x with runman (slightly faster unless the fast strat in 5-3x is used with naija)
- 5-7x - 5-9x with meat boy (~5 seconds slower)
- 5-10x - 5-11x with kid (~5 seconds slower)
- Farm 5-3x with steve (slightly slower than 5-16 farm)
- After dark rapture do 6-1x - 6-5x + dark fetus and farm 6-2 (on average 10+ seconds slower but makes the farm less risky)

A Wrong Warp to Chapter 6 - The End Guide

So I didn't really find any guide on how to do this so I thought that hey I'll be the last to suffer from trying to understand by myself and make a guide. Enjoy.

this requires a fresh save file, so to do that, basically turn off cloud saving from Properties > Updates on steam. For safety, grab your save file + backup file from wherever meat boy is on your computer (Default: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Super Meat Boy\UserData ) and copy it somewhere safe, and paste it when you want your file back.

Alright, now launch super meat boy. Go into the forest and enter directly into level 1-5. Enter the warp zone.
On level 1 of the warp zone, Get the bandage and progress as usual. Now pay attention. Get the bandage on level 2 as well, But as you get to bandage girl, Hit space on your keyboard. This will take you to the replay screen, which usually isn't available on Warps. Hit W and restart the level. Get the bandage again and progress as usual. Now get through the last level, and in the world map, you should notice tow bandage markers by the level name, yet the chapter progress still shows 0 bandages. That's ok.
Enter level 1-6, And start playing up until level 1-11, Collecting the bandage in 1-7, 1-9 and 1-11 along the way. As long as you don't exit to map before finishing 1-11 with a bandage this will work. Any interruption will cause the glitch to fail.
Now when you exit at 1-11, Notice the glitch girl level is unlocked (also, 1-7 is marked as unfinished. not an issue.).
Go to the glitch level and beat that. When you do so, exit to chapter select and bam, The end is unlocked.
From there do whatever you wish, I don't need to explain the route for now.

any% no WW route

- Forest: 1-1 to 1-14, then 1-16 to 1-18

- Hospital: 2-1 to 2-17

- Factory: 3-1 to 3-17
OR 3-1 to 3-11, then 3-14 to 3-19 (fastest route, do it only if you can do the 3-18 skip consistently)

- Hell: 4-1, then 4-3 to 4-17, then 4-19

- Rapture: 5-1 to 5-7, then 5-9 to 5-18 (fastest route, do it only if you can get the 5-1 fast strat and do the 5-18 consistently)
OR 5-2 to 5-18 (if you can't do 5-1 without dying/messing up)
OR 5-1 to 5-17 (old route, do it if you can't do 5-18)

- The End: 6-1 to 6-5 (what did you expect?)

Further notes (by vorpal):
The above routes assume standard PC loading times. If your load times are worse, most likely due to playing on console, you have some route options. In general, load times matter much more when you enter and exit stages from level select rather than simply beating levels and advancing to the next one, so routes that involve exits to map will become comparatively worse. How can you tell if your load times are worse? If you watch streams and see that nearly everyone else saves seconds over you every time you exit to map.

With bad loads, try these routes instead:
forest: 1 through 17
factory: 1 through 17 (borderline case; would be worth timing yourself, but 1-17 is easier)
hell: 1 through 17 (if you're willing to skip ahead of the moving platform before the end of 4-2, otherwise do normal route)
rapture: 1 through 17 or 2 through 18 (whichever is easier; compare your 5-1 time vs 5-18)

Dark ending route

Here's the basic meatboy dark ending route.
 
Do these stages:
Forest: 1-19 (both light & dark)
Hospital: 1-13, 16-19
Factory: 1-11, 14-19
Hell: 1, 3-17, 19 (easier) or 1-17 (faster with skip in 4-2x)
Light Rapture: 1-7, 9-18
Dark Rapture: 1-2, 4-7, 10-18
End: 1-5, light fetus, dark fetus
 
You can skip 2 stages in dark rapture because you did extra stages earlier (19 in forest instead of the 17 you need).  This route skips 5-3x and 9x, for reasons that will be very obvious if you try them yourself. You can also do more stages earlier (1-20, 2-20, etc) if you want to skip more. It's also worth noting doing 5-3x (and skipping 1-19 and 19x in forest in exchange) is actually a couple seconds faster with optimal strats, but this is not recommended for most players.
 
To perform the skip in 5-1x: watch a run to see where to set it up. Get in the corner next to the saw & let go of run (don't hit it again until you're through with the skip). Hold left & hit jump twice really fast, & hold jump on the second press. Keep holding jump & left and you should make the skip. The timing is pretty precise, so if you just barely clip the ceiling, keep trying.

For each chapter, do the light world, then the dark world, then the boss. Since glitch girl only starts spawning after the boss is cleared, you never have to worry about her.
 
One last note: This category fulfills the normal requirements to unlock dark fetus, which are to complete 85 stages in the dark world and beat light fetus. There's a glitch that lets you skip to dark fetus after beating 6-5. It's not hard to do; just mash Y to change to the dark world immediately when you return to the map after 6-5, and the game unlocks dark instead of light fetus. This glitch is not used, because if it was, the run would just be any% with dark instead of light fetus (and then the game would crash after the credits).

Faster way to unlock Dr. Fetus (w/ video)

Grab a clean save and do the following:

1. Go into the 1-5 warp zone and get 3 bandages by doing the 2nd level twice. (Press space and then W immediately upon hitting Bandage Girl to replay the level.)
2. Do levels 1-6 through 1-11 while getting all bandages.
3. Do 1-1 through 1-18 while getting all bandages (they'll have re-appeared where you already got them).
4. Exit to map and enter a new level, select "4bit Meat Boy" in the character select screen and you'll spawn as Dr. Fetus.

How to unlock Dr.Fetus by Jpk

Step 1: Open a new save of Super Meat Boy

Step 2: Enter 1-5 warpzone

Step 3: Get 3 bandages in warpzone by repeating a level

Step 4: Finish warpzone and do 1-6 through 1-11, getting all bandages

Step 5: Go back, and do stages 1-1 through 1-18, getting all bandages

Step 6:  Do 1-19 warpzone, getting bandages but not repeating

Step 7: Finish warpzone, do 1-19 through 1-20 getting all bandages

Step 8: Enter forest dark world, do 1-1x through 1-4x getting all bandages

Step 9: You’re done! You have Naija and Dr. Fetus as playable characters now.


Super Meat Boy won’t crash if you unlock all the other characters - it just adds slots for them as well as having slots for Dr. Fetus, potato boy, etc.

FAQ: 

Q: How do I keep my good save while doing this glitched shit?

A: Step 1: Go where Steam is located on your computer (Probably either C:\Program Files or C:\Program Files(x86) but sometimes it's on the D:\ so if you can't find it, try searching for it)

   Step 2: Open Steam --> SteamApps --> common --> Super Meat Boy --> UserData

   Step 3: Copy savegame.dat into some other location

   Step 4: Right click on Super Meat Boy in your Steam library and go to properties

   Step 5: On the 'Updates' tab, uncheck the box at the bottom about cloud synchronization

   Step 6: Delete savegame.dat in /Steam/SteamApps/common/Super 
Meat Boy/UserData

   Step 7: You’re done! :)

   Step 8: If you want to put your old save back in, just delete the current savegame.dat within /Steam/SteamApps/common/Super Meat Boy/UserData and then copy savegame.dat into /Steam/SteamApps/common/Super Meat Boy/UserData. When you start the game back up, you'll have your old save :)

Reverse Boss Order by The Wrong Warp Team

Hello,
Today I am going to explain how to do a reverse boss order run using wrong warping and bandage duping.
Bandage duping is a glitch in SMB that occurs when you pickup a bandage then press replay level instead of continuing to the next level, then grab another bandage.
Bandage duping works differently if you use it on warpzones, or in main levels.
In Warpzones, only the final amount of bandage matters : 1 and 2 are useless, 3 glitches out the game, 4+ is kind of confusing and strange effects can occurs and you can crash your game.
In Main Levels, depending on which level you get a bandage and in what order, you can get different effects.

If you die in a warpzone or in a glitch girl, with this route, you can reenter it and continue the run without problems, which is kind of cool.

The Wrong Warp Team finally arrived to a route that allows the player to beat the game in reverse boss order.
Ok, reset your save and go to 1-5 then in the warpzone.
Collect 3 bandages in one of the level, but not both.
Beat the warpzone.
Go to 1-18
Beat the level
Collect the bandage in 1-18 thirty eight times (I know that can look enormous, well in fact, it is a high amount of bandages, but it's required.
Also, for safety, you can eventually grab more bandages than thirty eight bandages (if you go above 100, it might crash your game).
Go to 1-5 warpzone again and grab 3 bandage in one of the level. (you should have a level without bandage and a level with bandage)
Beat the warpzone.
The glitch girl of Forest should be unlocked.
Beat the glitch girl level.
Go to world, Rapture and The End should be unlocked.
Go to The End, to Fetus; beat Dr Fetus that should be unlocked. RIP Doctor Fetus. Press Backspace to skip Credits.
Go to Rapture, to Larry; beat Larry. RIP Larry.
Go to Rapture again.
Go to 5-12 warpzone. Collect 3 bandages (no matter the order). 1 bandage in level 1 and 2 bandages in level 3 or 2 bandages in level 1 and 1 bandage in level 3 or 3 bandages in level 1 or 3 bandages in level 2.
Go to 5-16; beat 5-16.
Then grab thirty eight bandages in 5-16.
Hospital, Salt Factory and Hell should be unlocked.
Congratulations if you made it this far, this is the hardest part of this run.
Go to Hell (not IRL)
Beat 4-5 and 4-6 (there are two missing levels in the level count for Little Horn to be unlocked so just unlock them intended).
Little Horn should be unlocked.
Beat Little Horn. RIP Little Horn.
Go to Salt Factory.
Beat 3-5 and 3-6.
Beat Brownie. RIP Brownie.
Go to Hospital (not IRL).
Beat 2-1 and 2-2.
Beat Chad. RIP Chad.
Go to Forest.
Beat 1-1 and 1-2.
Beat Little Slugger. RIP Little Slugger. The run is done.
