Im just curious as to why this isnt a thing already, for example, being able to start off as wario but not being allowed to change characters. To be truthful, i dont have any plans to speedrun this game, im curious as to what a run would look like, without having to use the other characters, maybe and/or maybe not being allowed to use caps during the run.

tbh, this game is too expansive to not have more meme categories to play around with.

You always have to start off as Yoshi though. How would you start off as Wario?

I've done runs of a made up category where I play as Wario on an already 100% complete file and try to get as many stars as I can. This was several years ago but I got 127 unique stars in 4h 30m 54s using only Wario and no caps.

So, they can be a thing, people just have to actually want to do them. These "meme categories" are usually only run by one or two people, so they don't have leaderboards on this site, but with enough attention they could.

I also recently thought about doing a similar challenge with Luigi, only for that I could start from a new file and just get the 15 stars required to unlock Luigi as part of the run, then use Luigi (no caps) for everything except opening the big star doors.
