Speedrunning Shatterbrain

1. If you don't have the paid version of the app, use Airplane mode or turn off Wi-Fi and Cellular to avoid ads.  Just be sure to turn back on when you're done!

2. Landscape mode - On Android, you can use an app such as Orientation Lock to get landscape mode.  On iPhone, repeatedly open the game, force quit, reopen in portrait, then rotate to landscape.  After a few tries the game should switch to landscape.  You can then switch back and forth between landscape and portrait, as long as you don't bring a different app into focus.

On most levels this makes it a little harder because everything is smaller.  But on some levels this makes it much easier, because you can either draw bigger shapes, or go around the outside of walls, etc.

3. Reachability - iPhone only.  In the accessibility settings you can turn on Reachability.  This allows you to move the "screen" up and down.  This gives a few advantages:
a. You can start shapes on the screen, and draw them off the top (or rarely, off the bottom).
b. If you put your finger down on the screen, but in an out-of-bounds area, you can drag your finger off the "screen", and into the black void.  Once you exit the out-of-bounds area, it will start drawing a shape, even if you are off of the "screen".

4. OOB - When you are against a spot where a striped red Out-of-Bounds area meets the limit of the drawable area (either the left/right sides using Landscape mode, or the top/bottom using Reachability), if you drag your finger past the area, you can often go into or through the Out-of-bounds section, along the edge of the drawable area.  Once you have entered the OOB, the game will try to get you to exit.  This means it will draw a straight line to the first point where it again registers you drawing In-bounds.  The straight line will go through anything, including previously drawn shapes, shatterable objects, and even walls.  This allows some levels to be completed very quickly, because if the shape intersects a shatterable object, it shatters immediately.  This is extremely useful for Low%.

5. Flinging - Some levels initially seem like they are limited by the speed of gravity.  However, If you also draw a flinger and fulcrum (if needed), it is sometimes possible to fling a ball enough faster than gravity to make up for the lost time of drawing the flinger.

6. Nudging - This strategy is way more useful in the sister game Brain It On!,  but could have some uses here.  Drawing a shape near an existing shape that is at rest can sometimes cause the resting shape to move.  Doing this repeatedly, it can be possible to slowly nudge something that had been stopped into a new location.  Most likely to be helpful for Low% strategies.

7. Clipping - If you draw a shape near another shape, especially drawing a long straight line near the corner of another shape, sometimes you can get them to clip into one another.  The game will try to resolve this by shifting the drawn shape away.  This can be useful for
a. Getting shapes to move in directions they normally would not go
b. Shattering shapes more quickly.  If the shapes are already intersecting the shatterable shape will break right away, instead of waiting for gravity to make the drawn shape touch it.

8. Reset Timer Glitch - If you press and hold a finger down on the screen to draw a shape, then tap the reset button, the In-Game-Timer does not start, even though you can now draw with the finger you were pressing and holding with.  You can draw that shape, and let go, potentially even shattering all shapes in the level, and the timer will not start until you touch the screen again.  If you touch it in an out-of-bounds area, or on a black shape, the timer will start without drawing a second shape.  If you care about the in-game leaderboards (points and In-Game-Time for Collection 1), this glitch can be used to get extremely high on the leaderboard, as you can get a time of zero and the maximum possible score on nearly every level.  There doesn't seem to be much applicablity for speedrunning.

9. Delayed shape drawing - Not sure why this happens or if it's helpful, but sometimes, it seems especially likely if you give a lot of inputs/use multiple fingers at once for an extended period, sometimes the game will get delayed, and apply your inputs while you are not even touching the screen.  I'd be curious to know if this is useful for speedrunning.
