I'm guessing you are talking about the puzzle skip in "Skipless" runs. If you are failing right at the end of hitting the goal ring, I once had the same issue. There normally shouldn't be an issue and I always hold up, but you can also go up and then half a second or less after you start falling, hold down after you fall.
