I'd like to share some tips that can improve your time by some seconds if well used. Feel free to share yours !

• When you cut your first tree, select the second slot before. The breaking animation reset when the item in your hand change. So if you pick the first wood piece when breaking the second, be sure it'll not go in your hand (Works since 1.5 at least)

• Pressing 1-9 keys when hovering a inventory/crafting slot will switch the content of the slot you're hovering with the content of your hotbar slot corresponding to the key you pressed. You can use this to reorganize your inventory quickly, or to put any item in the crafting recipe. (Works since 1.6 at least)

First tip is genuinely useful (I still see runners losing time to staying on the first slot when mining stuff)
