this is unrelated but the dropdowns for the support hub are literally white on white LMAOOO
Well that explains why I was looking at an empty dropdown
the reason i dont want to get ad block is because... i wanna support the site, but it gets kinda hard when you can barely post a post without clicking a ad every 10 seconds
Ads suck, we can all agree on that, they make speedrun.com slower, look worse but Other then that Elo is listening to the community which is something we wanted for a long time, Even thought we got ads, It's pretty easy to get rid of them with ad blockers (unless you use a phone) Mostly it's the layout that's annoying but they are taking care of that, Besides the ads, the update is great!
@Firewall Just to make this perfectly clear from the start, let me say I 100% agree with you: this update does indeed seem to be a step in the right direction and I hope they continue evolving in this fashion.
That being said, it's really a shame that all the good work they've done on this update is overshadowed by the fact that the whole site layout gets broken the instant the update hits. I'm positive the issue will be fixed in a matter of hours and all will be good again (which I'm really grateful for), but was it really necessary to get to this point to detect something as noticeably broken as this?
Actually, I'm glad that there will be ads on the site now. The site needs to make revenue somehow, and ads are WAY better than having features locked or only having donations.
What about the ads shown to regular visitors, and the money they make from their other 3 websites that they get through ads and a paid API? (paid api's lul) They could even bring back the donator thing, or atleast make donators like me not need to see ads.
I know I can use an adblocker (I already use one), but the intention is still clear.
EDIT: My custom CSS is also broken thanks to all this empty space on the top and right of my screen that I assume is where ads are meant to go.
So the site update news post said there were some new features for users - do you have to donate to unlock them? How do you get them? The only thing I hate about this update is the ads, but I got an adblocker so its fine now.
@1 , I agree. I think its because they added the Support Hub, but I think those threads shouldn't have been locked.

I have to retract a previous praise I made to the site for widening the individual level leaderboard tables.
It seems that in the past hour the leaderboard is changed to have fat margins again, and those margins have ads everywhere even if you are signed in. And even with adblocker you will just see useless empty space on the margins now, forcing horizontal scrolling.
Frankly cringe change.
Just as many other people, I paid in the past just to get a badge and access to translations, both of which weren't necessary for using the site. If that's not enough for me to not see ads now, then that's understandable, it was a long time ago, but I can do it again. Either that or I can pay a couple bucks a month for some random paid features and no ads. Just give me the option to do so instead of forcing me to see ads. "Just use an adblock lol" is not a proper solution.
By the way: The Kappa and LUL emotes have stopped working for me here, while KEKW seems to still work. Is this the case for you guys as well?
Kappa LUL
Edit: Does anyone even test the changes they make to this site?? I know how easy it is for bugs to leak through without anyone noticing, but when you create this whole new system for users to submit feedback and bug reports and whatnot, is it really that hard to make sure the text on the buttons is actually visible? Why is it that every update there is some very glaring mistake or bug that leaks through.
