Hello there! this is my speedrun guide for BFDI: Branches.

As you may know some videos activate "Speedrun mode." you may be asking how do you do that?

well you just press shift on the main menu and it should appear. When you press it, it takes you directly to the tutorial of the character you are. (you should see that button when you press shift)

Settings (that i recommend)

-timer (ON)

thats it lmao

also with the keyboards 1, 2, 3 and 4, you can switch between firey (1), leafy (2), coiny (3), pin (4)

but on this tutorial we'll do firey. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

THE LEVELS!

Tutorials:

Firey tutorial: this is pretty much the shortest one.

it teaches you the basics, and since firey doesnt have any special thing, its the fastest to beat, if you want to get a any% wr, i would recommend to play this one.

BUT NOW ONTO THE STRATEGY!!!

first you may want to run at all times, you can run by pressing shift once. (this is configurable on the settings menu)

on about this partyou double jump.

after that there should be a spring, you slam onto the spring to jump higher and reach the platform above.

something like this(sorry for low quality and small gif)

(UPDATE: for faster Time You jump over the springs, double jump at pretty much the same, but on the second blue terrain, You double jump.)

the rest of the tutorial is pretty much the same, only difference is that you run at all times and jump a lot.

now onto the fan part. first you jump and slam down, then you do another slam, and go foward. if you didn't understand this have the gif:

its really simple, after that you just have to run to the finish line.

Laying Down the Roots

you on this level may want to jump a lot, it helps.

you start in this area, you may want to just run and jump, evading enemies too, something like this sub-30 run (run by maztik):

if you did not understand, try slowing down the video.

thats... pretty much it.

im not gonna do the tokens since we are doing any%, fastest time possible

stairs are run-killers kind of

Cloudy Cliffs

this is an interesting level

now, i know that my pb on this level is less than 35 secs. but you should do something like this (run by maztik, again):

if you did not understand, try slowing the video down, that may help. but if you still can't understand, check an any% run, it may help.

ALSO the bug part is a run-killer, be careful with that part, i just had like 2 runs ruined by that lol

Spikes n Spikes

pretty much the same as the others, BUUT, this has a lot of run killers

first the video (by maztik again again):

you may have seen the run-killers, examples: the start (bugs), the pit, the saws(?), and pretty much all of the run-killers (i will now be calling run killers RKs.)

i don't know what else to explain its pretty much visible over there

The Big Red Button

first of all the video (by y'know at this point)

now on here you may notice the RKS, the start has one, like 3 of them, the on and off buttons, the on platforms, even the first bug part. if you encounter some RKs then comment them!

so on the first bug part i would recommend to jump on the bug or just jump over it, like seen in the video, and then when you're on top of the thing just jump again, but be careful not to collide with the wall.

the button part can be annoying sometimes, i just kind of skip by double jumping and taking some damage by the spikes

then the platforms, i just run and try not to collide.

then on the checkpoint, i'd recommend to skip the player platforms, except the one that gets you out of the cave thing(?).

then after that you pretty much do the same as the run.
