Both of the categories are broken. The only runs that are submitted so far are from patch 1.0.0 or 1.0.1. These patches include the item duplication glitch, which has since been patched out. Also, even if you factory reset to go back down to version 1.0.0 or 1.0.1, the top runs use an item called the “ACNH Nintendo Switch”. This item can ONLY be obtained this early in the game if you purchased the ACNH Nintendo Switch Bundle in real life (which is currently selling for $700 on eBay). The reason why this item is so important is because it sells for 2,000 more bells than the normal Nintendo Switch item so it drastically lowers run times. I know that this game isn’t closely paid attention to in terms of speedrunning because it’s an Animal Crossing game, however it’s one of my favorite franchises and I enjoy speedrunning just as much. Hopefully the moderators can come up with a good solution; either by adding new categories, retiring old categories, or changing the rules for existing categories.

Yeah, agree Basicaly, we need subcategories for "1.0.0 - 1.1.0" and "1.1.1", or inclusive separate in "1.0.0" and "1.1.0" if is needed yeah

I wrote a guide on GBAtemp on how to change your joycons into the animal crossing ones in software.
You have nothing to fear, it won't ban your switch or anything crazy like that. All it does is change the hex colors the joycons idenify as when connected to the switch, to that of the NH ones. Once you check your mailbox, you'll find it in there. You can also revert to your stock colors in the app.
