Hi, sorry if this is not the right place to ask for it, but can we get a 1-80 WOTLK speedrun categories allowing mailbox/trade/heirlooms items ? I did prepare everything for a 1-80 run for my next mage but it require being able to trade items like heirlooms and other stuff (all mats to climb engineer / first aids for example..)

The rules would be :

The run is timed ingame via the /played command. Once you reach level 80 type /played and submit your score.

Runs need to have video proof. You are allowed to record/upload it in parts, as long as you record everytime that character is played.

The run needs to be done on a single character, i.e. you CAN'T level to 55 and make a DK to continue the run.

In this category you can use :

Mailbox

Auction House

Trading

Group is allowed ONLY to reset instances or layer swap, otherwise, no intentionnal help from anyone is allowed

The maximum amount of real time a run is allowed to take is 21 days. This is because of rested exp exploiters. Show your time and date before starting and after ending the run. For example use https://www.timeanddate.com/ or other services. if you stream your runs and the time/date of the stream is shown on the website you will not have to do this.

Alternatively you can either take up to 12 weeks, but then you are NOT allowed to log off in a rested area.

The run should be solo at all costs. For grouped runs we would need a seperate category.

Would be nice yea, layer swap and reset instance with an alt is a good way to increase xp/hour without getting real help from anyone (just optimization).

Is it allowed to connect on another caracter and send more stuff during the run or i can only send everything before the first connexion?

You can use the mailbox all you like during the run. But you are allowed to send items before actually starting it. Just wanted to make sure before people ask if that would be okay.

• A teleport
• Reset instances
• Layer swap

I dont think there is more reason to group than thoses 3, its still a full solo run, being able to group for thoses stuff is most likely for QoL / minmax

Tbh these "grey area" rules are always weird to me. Should it not be either No Grouping at all or Grouping is generally allowed? Having a rule be like "You can group but only in x scenario to do x" could complicate things.

Yea you're right, it look a bit complexe to define what is allowed while grouped or not..

Or It could be something like :

No direct help to kill monster or complete quest is allowed.

But as you said its a bit weird, getting 2 categories either no grouping at all or grouping generally allowed must be the thing to do. A bit sad for me since i do everything solo, i use group only for optimization/QoL purposes but its fine

For now i added sub categories for solo/grouped runs in 1-80, so you can combine sub categories. NG Solo, NG Grouped, NG+ Solo and NG+ Grouped are the 4 categories this way.

I find the grey area rules a bit wierd also, I know why you want to do it but for speedrun purposes solo unassisted is the default measure. It's hard to compare individual performance when one person is going full solo and another is actively layer swapping and resetting dungeons all day.
