yes, we plan to update the leaderboard for V1.0.
The leaderboards are structured to only have the two maps, Chernarus and Livonia. Since there are no major advantages between console and pc, and Chernerus and Livonia being the only maps with official servers, The leaderboards will continue to be mixed between console and pc.
@NiamZxe There aren't currently any rules that prevent that. I would personally like to remove pacifist and vegetarian because they aren't any different than the any% runs. Healthy is definitely different because it takes much more care to stay healthy. Any opinion on removing pacifist and vegetarian?
Despite this forum thread being an absolute mess, and kinda scaring me away from wanting to run anymore, I have been interested in speedrunning this game. It would be nice to have Individual levels which are each chapter. It’s possible to select each chapter 1 by 1 and that’s how I would practice an prepare for a full game run. I don’t think the cases should be the IL’s though.
Its probably not enough time save to test which one should be used. Then you get into a position as to which language should you run your game in?
so what about dividing them into categories called restricted and unrestricted. these categories can apply to every section of the runs, including items, kills, and running to certain locations. Restricted would represent the solo, no interactions, heavy rules Unrestricted would represent multiplayer, lax rules, loot stashes, etc.
DayZ is a unique game and allowing a player to prep for hours on end before they essentially “run” the game, I feel, would destroy the skill or RNG associated with the run. This means you could get a car, bring it to spawn, have a friend or two defend it, and then spawn in, drive straight to NWAF. I’m not against adding this as a category, but I don’t think this should be the standard general run.
If it is a request to add “co-op” runs or even “true solo” as a category, it can be done fairly easily. Although, as it stands, there are still only 3 runners.
It’s a little bit to the left of where that little circle piece of the door at the ground stops. That’s how I try to line mine up, it’s not always perfect.
https://www.speedrun.com/za4/thread/46lv8 This is the extent of it all useful knowledge. Also referring to the best runs would be the best way, a lot of time watching but you can adapt and adjust based off of the current best timing. The community isn't really big, at this time, it doesn't really extend past me and BadPuns, but I think BadPuns is done permanently.
fighting for seconds gets tough, wait till you are fighting for .020 ms. good run!
Yo, If you want to do it the best, refer to Noobfile1 run. His kill is roughly 371 ms, which is about 400ms faster than the kill in my run. If you want it the fastest. If you want consistency, aim for the knees. You can also refer to this guide https://www.speedrun.com/charlie_in_the_moistverse_of_madness/guide/y0ezj skip to about 2:30
spend some more time on it. and yes, there is a reason. If you are already in the action of falling, you can only jump once... the way that I perform the jump consistently is by actively walking into the wall and jumping.
Hi Spooky_ There are currently differentiation between difficulty or player scaling, nor are there plans to add categories to reflect these modifiers. This would split the leaderboards into too many confusing categories. That being said, I would recommend playing on 1 player (least amount of spawns) and easy (quickest kills) to make your run faster. This strategy can be applied in both co-op or solo. Regardless, you can play with your own difficulty or player scaling, its ultimately your decision.
