So I recently submitted a SM64 31 star run and it was rejected because all category extensions must be vods. I've seen twitch voids be frowned upon, would this be okay? I would basically use twitch as a way to verify my runs, and if anyone wants to pop in they can I guess but I'm not looking to become the next Ninja or PewDiePie lol
Why aren’t there any solitaire games to speedrun? I would’ve submitted but it feels too obvious so I thought that there was a legit reason
I have a cheap genesis emulator, one of those “80 games in one” things by At Games. Would this be acceptable, if I put original cartridges into it? I’m probably never gonna do anything with it but just thought it was interesting
I am planning to purchase an Elgato hd60, as well as an N64, but I don’t want to buy the n64 card as well. I’ve found a composite-HDMI converter for around $20, and I was curious if it would provide adequate capture quality through the entire setup or if it’s worth shelling out the extra cash. I don’t have that much money to work with, so if it doesn’t pan out I’ll just skip the Elgato for now, as my HD recording setup is decent enough with my phone.
I was preparing my first run for submission, and realized that I couldn't just put in a video file, but a link. Does anyone know of a way to make a .mp4 into a link without uploading it to YouTube?
I’m currently in the process of requesting a new game called “Slide-Puzzle” in the iOS App Store (May be on google play) it’s written in Japanese (or another Asian language) but I’ve gotten good at it and it is a good entry point for beginners due to the lack of a picture, but the use of numbers as the tiles. It is a classic 15 tile slide puzzle on a 4x4 grid. I hope there will be a competitive scene growing as it is enjoyable for me.
If you've been looking at the "Speedrunning" forum, you know who I am, but I just wanted to say hello. I'm not new to speedrunning itself, but I wanted to get serious about it so I got an account with the site. If anyone's curious, I'm currently running SMO Any% and Overwatch's Practice Range (I know, not very much competition since I'm on console) although I'm open to starting a few other games, and suggestions.
I am new to the site, and wanted to submit my SMO any%, (its pretty bad, 1:38:52) but I feel like a new runner with a time less then 10 minutes from the video requirement line will gain suspicion. Either way, I would like to start recording my runs, but I don't have a capture card. Is finding a way to prop my phone up to watch my Switch screen (I'll just play in tabletop mode) the best way, or is there a better option? (I have a 6+, camera quality is decent enough)
