There has been some interest in adding a leaderboard for HDPC Cutscene Remover. The purpose of this thread is to collect VODs of Cutscene Remover runs to gauge interest in the category before making an official leaderboard.

Please refer to the current HDPC Any% No Major Skips rules for these runs, with the only difference being that this category will allow the use of the Cutscene Remover mod.

Hey! I'm not a moderator so don't take my reply as law, but generally categories get added when there's active interest in them from multiple people, including finished runs. I think the idea of allowing the speed booster in a new category is a promising one, as I'm always in favor of finding ways to make the game more accessible to more people. But we would have to, as a community, define the rules for how it would work: namely, do we allow the speed booster only during cutscenes, or is it allowed on the field/in battle too?

Of course, having to figure stuff out isn't a reason to NOT add a new category, these are just some things we'd have to address before doing so. My opinion is that if you want to run the game a certain way that isn't covered by the leaderboards, you should do it!

Hi! I keep getting this GameMaker error whenever I try to run the TAS for practicing different levels. Does anyone know how to get around this? I'd like to start practicing and running this game more seriously. :)

That's exactly right! All categories in HD PC have a load remover, although you will see some of the older runs don't have it, as they're from before fhelwanger wrote the load remover.

All runs in that category that do use the load remover should also have a "Time Without Loads" on their splits, which you can use to compare runs instead, but because the load times vary based on each runner's PC (mine are the longest on the whole LB lmao), it won't be a perfect comparison.

The original post is from 2019. To my knowledge, there is no dedicated discord server for RCT speedruns. There are a few RCT general servers out there, including Deurklink's and Marcel Vos's.

If folks are interested in starting up a server for RCT speedruns, let me know. I'd be interested in setting something like that up if it will be active.

Hiya! I have a couple runs pending in RollerCoaster Tycoon 2: https://www.speedrun.com/rct2 -- The runs have been pending for about a month.

I'd like to know if I could be made a supermod of this game, since the current mods seem to be inactive. One moderator last logged in in January, and the super mod in December. The super mod reached out to me on Twitch to ask if I could be a moderator since he knew he was going to be inactive for a while, but never got me set up. I could share those DMs with a staff member if they'd like to see them.

Could we potentially change the All Scenarios runs to a similar format as RCT2 has it, where Base Game and OpenRCT2 are two different subcategories of the same category, rather than completely separated? Seems a little weird that the OpenRCT2 category is considered "misc" when it's the only one with any runs submitted. :P

Yeah, unfortunately the best way to reset on PC is to quit the application and reboot it. There's no reset button within the game itself.

I noticed the speedruns in the Open RCT category have the original scenarios with both pay per entry and pay per ride, which RCT2 didn't feature. Having both available unlocks more marketing options, so I was wondering how you set the Open RCT scenarios to allow that?
