Upon trying it more i noticed you can even sidejump on top of water to move faster than swimming.

For some reason in this game jumping sideways is super fast. Tried out with a friend who sprinted forward and i jumped sideways, approx 10-15% faster to mash jump and go sideways (has to be hard sideways).
