First of all, it's a pleasure to see this game get a leaderboard. It's one of my favourite childhood games I've played. As I'm typing this right now, I'm uploading an easy speedrun (no classic). One thing I've noticed that I think is not great is that the run submission doesn't require varication. I highly recommend changing that setting. And also, any chance you can add the bonus levels? As I find that mode more fun in my opinion. Unless you wish to make me a mod if you want me to help you as I am a moderator on a popular game called DOOM. Been mod for that for over a year now. I'm thinking of doing the other categories soon. Once again, thanks for creating this leaderboard as I've actually search the game on this website and it didn't exist. Glad it exists now :)

Like what Thief said, can't do the glitches (barely many of them) that are actually quite easy to do, don't do them. Extremely pointless to make a whole category of things you can't be bothered to perform. Anyways, hope to see runs from you soon and best of luck with them :)

So far there isn't any auto splitters. You don't have to use splits to run a episode. A timer is fine. If you want to know how to start and end the timer, it tells you in the rules.

For recording, use the xbox start recording feature and just use any timer.

Hi and welcome, the best way to start doom is play what you enjoy the most like an IL in the Level Leaderboards section or Full game Leaderboard, find a way to record the best quality gameplay and do what you wish to run. For example, if you enjoy playing Episode 1 full game the most, do that. All I can say is run the categories you enjoy the most to get the best start of enjoying to speedrun doom.

Only ITYTD has different damage taken from the rest, 50% less.

If you are talking about UV or higher, you show the menu at the start of the run like it says in rules.

However, co-op exists on the xbla port.

I don't know why you are complaining so much for a switch only category for being 'slow'. Mobile (touch screen input), is much slower than switch.

@Doomkiller7676 nice to see you still around. And yes I remember why you left a few months ago. I kinda understand where you are coming from that achieving a run you are proud of and not getting much praise and attention is a bit annoying for sure. I get that as well when I share my records myself and I get no praise (70% of the time), I get annoyed as well but I move on and I praise myself :) hope to see some runs whenever you feel like it in the future.

For IL boards, IGT will always be a thing (including milliseconds now) and slowly but surely getting most times retimed to the perfect millisecond. Not all runs may not if no one has reached the time maybe, unless its tied. The IL board submission has a section to type down the milliseconds. For reason most people type it in incorrectly :D Full game is still RTA because no total time on the end screen but its still been retimed to the perfect millisecond (including screen melts). Again, not everything will be retimed to the millisecond from the past update unless its tied.

Reason why not everything will be retimed because like Letterbomb said there are 1500+ runs and obviously don't really have the time and importance for that. But most of them at least.

Everyone has there own setup with the e1m4 jump. So its best to find your own consistent method that will work. In case you want to know how to do other tricks, check out guides and it should help you. And welcome :)

That's nice to hear :) At the end of the day, we are all in this as a community. Hopefully one day it will be done. And I respect the work that's been done by the mods (and anyone) to make things good for everyone. And its a relief that people are listening which not many communities do :)

I've noticed that myself with this forum that PC players don't care about console players or not even understand. (I respect the community don't get me wrong). However the filters are good but only show a certain platform, not the whole console thing itself. Also, I've seen in other Doom categories outside of Doom Eternal, have separated platforms that have advantages to others and has its own leaderboard for a nice equal playing field. So clearly there's no trouble making a console leaderboard and its not hard to. For example Doom/Doom2 BFG edition and Doom 64 (2020). I can live without it, but it's unfair. And people may think 'just buy a pc'. That's not the case because pc are expensive and not many people can afford it. I enjoy watching pc runs but it would be nice for console as well so everyone in the community can have a good chance and it will give a good achievement for the console runners. Yes I haven't submitted a run yet and that doesn't excuse me with my point. PC players shouldn't look down on consoles players and neglect. And another reason people will think is there isn't enough people. I'm sure there will be more coming if the board is made. Also, this is not the case of getting 'free records' in case anyone was thinking of that. (Not being negative).

That's true. However some people may not know about the filter and for most people would feel nice about their own console Leaderboard being shown as default and easy to see by others instead of clicking a load of buttons to see it. But yet again, theres not many console players running this. I see it as console players being put off with the advantage of pc players and don't dare to make a run because they will be down at the leaderboard and people who just look at the leaderboard without knowing about the filters. Think they're no good. But with a console Leaderboard, console players will be encouraged to make it to the top of the leaderboard as default and I think more console players will run Doom Eternal.

In my opinion, the console board should be made with a high demand of console runners with a similar amount of players that run on pc. However, with @diablo7 odd behaviour making the mods weary ( I think) and a good point from @Spirits Seems unlikely ):
