I think we had a thought about this, but because most levels are so short it would be a lot of who had the most efficient date manipulation...
That could be cool, definitely one level at a time is the way to do it for TASes
Ahh that's a shame. LibTAS is a potential option I guess although I don't know how well it works with steam games. As you say the lack of both save states and perfect input replay is a huge problem. The game engine it runs on (stencyl) is mostly open source and I have spent some time looking to see if there is anywhere I could add in TAS tools, but nothing promising has come up yet.
I hope you're joking about the mods splicing runs taekwondonuts, that's definitely very against the rules of the leaderboard. If the mods are splicing runs and uploading them as normal runs then we probably need some new mods 😅
I'm not sure if the mods will add a TAS category, leaderboards normally don't have one, but you are very welcome to join the discord server. There are lots of people there who would be interested to see how it works out and also give tips on how to optimise levels.
That sounds exciting, TASing this game is something I've been interested in for a while, I haven't tried this method though. Good luck with that!
Ahaha those levels are so annoying, ggs on making it this far though! That's a really impressive time, pretty sure it beats the world record from this time last year
I think ox will get it set up quite soon once he's got some free time, it only got accepted on Monday and he's been busy all week which is why he hasn't done it yet
It depends. If you are going to do individual level speedruns, you need to have the in-game timer turned on - see this post .
For any other categories the moderators will time it for you, you just need a video.
This new ability for supporters to gift boosts to people in their communities is nice and all, but it would be even nicer if the people getting the boosts had some way of hearing about it.
Seriously, the only place the site lets you know about it if you:
- Go into settings for your user profile
- Scroll down to the bottom, to the section for supporters only, and click on "boosts".
Why would anyone who wasn't a supporter even go here to check?
And even then, it doesn't say which community the boost was from! I only checked this because someone said they'd given out boosts, and now I have a boost I don't know if it was them who gave it to me!
Edit: I know that there is an option in notifications for if you are the recipient of a boost. This was on by default and I never turned it off, but I don't see any notifications...
This glitch looks like it could break / make big improvements on quite a lot of levels, so I am currently deciding whether or not to allow it in runs on this leaderboard
Any runs submitted that use this glitch will be ignored for now. In the near future I will change the rules either to allow it, or to make a new category specifically for it.
@GrandMasterMario5000 maybe, I prefer levels but I'm sure I will do it again at some point
Well I was isolating from covid so I had plenty of time to improve it.
Yeah unlike with your example it explicitly gives me a choice for which flag I want displayed (and then only uses my choice sometimes).
Ok thank you, I didn't realise that that selection only applied to the leaderboards.
I had assumed that as I had selected the UK flag instead of the England flag for "display on leaderboards", it should also show up as that in the recent runs page.
Maybe it's because the UK is weird, it is displayed as country:UK, subcountry:England then region (whereas most other countries only have country then region.)
But I made this flag selection months ago, I haven't changed it for ages (and the run was only submitted yesterday)
