If you're playing on your wii, there's hdmi adapters for the output of the wii.

you didn't have the game set up properly (only gamecube selectable when it's also playable on a wii) so all runs were set up to display gamecube, right?

so, instead of just going forward having people submit their runs correctly (& possibly edit their old runs) you forcibly deleted the console tag and then tried to remedy it by adding a variable?

for them to lose their set console, you had to delete the gcn platform from the game, which is already a questionable move...

one that will fit any game is impossible as you need multiple ones for that to be possible.

Yes, just a clear video of the run is sufficient in most cases. however, some games may require you to use livesplit for the "autosplitter" feature, this feature automatically starts and stops your timer at predefined points, e.g. stopping the time when the game is in a loading screen. in those cases you would need to provide both the gameplay and the livesplit feed.

The run doesn't have to be livestreamed, this would just make it impossible to submit for a majority of people.

Comment section has been brought up countless times before and every time the consensus was that it's unecessary & would add too much moderation-free space for trolls, memers, bots & general fuckery.

Runners already can add a description, but as you know by now for sure, almost no one will bother to write a detailed report on what they improved in that specific run.

@CanadianOwl at that point why do you even have it set up like this? Firstly, you already have a series dedicated to adding hacks, so having them listed in a single game seems redundant, Secondly, IF you're adding them all in one game, why not use the IL list, which is better suited for a list like this?

Maybe an option to shorten the used ms count would be a good compromise? e.g. in MH, only the left 2 digits are used in the ingame-timer, so the 3rd is kinda irellevant and leads to confusion, as people will just copy the time from the ingame-timer to the speedrun.com field, and it'll then get submitted wrong.

Although, having a large amount of runs does help with people picking up the game. a board that has runs from 100+ people is far more lucrative to pick up than a game that has had only 1 runner ever. it basically can be groundwork to having a community build itself.

On the MH Speedrunners discord we had 0 activity. Ever since I've started syncing runs from other platforms for MHW, we had an incredible increase in people joining the discord, sharing runs & new people picking up the games. I'm even getting runs sent in via reddit now. Being the leaderboard that has all the runs helps alot with people even caring about the leaderboard.

@finnaboing use a browser plugin like "user CSS" on chrome to add it in, the plugin will do the rest automatically.
