Thanks for your submission. Unfortunately you have misunderstood how the timing works. You have added the individual race times together, but Wipeout uses 'real time'. The timer runs continuously, including during menus/loading screens. From the rules:
"Timing starts when you press one player on the title screen, and ends on the results screen of the last race"
Using this method, I have calculated your time as 25:22. I would be happy to accept that time if you would like to re-submit the run.
What I suggest though is that you do another run and quickly go through the menus and name entry screen as quick as possible during your run (enter your name as 'aaa'). Remember that the timer is always ticking!
Hi, I just noticed this post. No save states allowed, sorry. If your interested, the neGcon controller lets you get the fast start easily with it's analogue throttle.
Moderator note: Run was incorrectly submitted as 2:20.0. Corrected to 2:22.0
OK, I've just done that. It would be nice to have it integrated with SRC though.
I would like to request that there be additional options available in the social media links section for user profiles. I know that YouTube and Twitch are the biggest video sites, but how about adding some of the smaller ones like Odysee? I find their video quality to be far better than YouTube, especially for SD content. It would be nice to have more diversity.
There are no specific rules around emulators. I would agree with AholeHamster that PS3 need not be considered emulation as it's official Sony hardware.
I am the new moderator for Wipeout and I have now fixed this. The problem was that a previous moderator had incorrectly set the Time trial Rapier (PAL) category to 'time ascending', causing the times to be displayed in reverse order! This was never noticed as there was only one user (FrankFyre) with runs in that particular category.
There is some sort of bug that is incorrectly placing runs on the wrong position of the leaderboard. I first noticed this when one of my runs of wipeout was verified last month. I have now became the moderator of this game and have tried to resolve the issue, but nothing works. I re-submitted the run myself. I thought the bug was something to do with in-game time vs real-time, but even after manually editing runs from real-time to in-game time, the bug still persists. See here for an example of the problem:
https://www.speedrun.com/wipeout/level/Altima_VII#Time_trial_Rapier_PAL
I did manage to have it display the proper positions when I changed my time to 'in-game' but kept the other user as 'real-time', but that's not ideal as only one should be used. Can anyone help with this as I see no way for me to fix this myself?
The secret to Wipeout is learning to effectively use the airbrakes to make turns. I've always felt that the original Wipeout is superior to the later ones in the series as it encourages perfection.
I submitted a run a few months ago for Altima VII time trial rapier (PAL). My time was 3m 04s 500ms, which was faster than the current WR of 3m 09s 300ms. However, the leaderboard shows me as 2nd place when my time is clearly faster. Have I found a bug in the site?
Is rather difficult. You want to hit X just slightly after the amber light (as countdown says "one"). I think maybe it has to be frame perfect?
