When you record the game it will be shown on OBS as long as the livesplit window is on top of everything in that program. If you are talking about BXT Launcher then it's only for native linux version. To launch WON version you need wine. You have to launch window's version of steam through wine, after that you just click on bat file and should be working. If you don't see or hear anything try installing 32-bit libraries for sound audio, I don't remember which exactly. Hope it helps.

If you want to speedrun this game I recommend you check the resources tab and download either goldsource package or 2005 WON version which comes with BXT and it has all features such as proper demo recording. And no, bxt doesn't work on 25th anniversary version. Either way I recommend you try those other versions of hl1.
