I'm escaping on the found ship, playing on peaceful naked brutality.

My strategy is:

  • First and foremost - control for RNG by finding a seed with a starting colonist who has the Jogger trait. Otherwise, retires would be too frustrating, and I wanted a lot of them quickly to get a good time.
  • Search for locations where an ancient danger has good valuables for sale and there's a neutral tribe living nearby.
  • Quickly loot the ancient danger and abandon the location. Buy pemmican from the tribe and visit nearby neutral towns to find some go-juice.
  • Park myself close to the center of the map and play with the starting position until the ship mostly spawns in close and accessible locations (in particular not too north).
  • Before the ship spawn set a drug policy to take go-juice twice a day (its high lasts 0.7 days).
  • Rush to the ship and enable its reactor. Rinse and repeat until happy with the time. Then, do a full run waiting for the ship launch.

Splits - https://splits.io/61ez I re-timed the run, since RimWorld speedruns are timed quite precisely, via YouTube's 0.25 speed and frequent pausing. The starting dialog is last visible at 0:00.08 time, while the ship launch button appears pressed at 23:53.46 time, giving a provable 23:53.38 time upper bound. I show the developer mode and mods being off at the end of the video.

I revamped the categories today. Changes:

  • The Escape category has been split into three separate main categories: Escape-any%, Escape-build% and Escape-ascent%. Previously the Escape category had four subcategories: any%, build%, 100% and ascent%.
