Pondering about run rules

This isn't a very active speed game, so I'm not sure who will see this... but there's been a pending run that I've put off verifying for a couple reasons; but this run is significant because they opted not to complete the family tree or the puzzles.

It's my fault this happened because the rules don't state that they are a requirement, the game itself doesn't require them to receive the best ending, and the category's name is called "Best Ending" and not "100%.

This is a pretty significant change compared to currently-submitted runs, so I want to hear other people's thoughts on this. We could allow this and make this the new route, deny this and make the puzzles and family tree a requirement, or perhaps consider this the new "Best Ending" route and change the current leaderboard to "100%".

Well, for Best Ending, the family tree is a requirement. The puzzle pieces aren't (although, you still need some to get Clancy). IMO we should re-name the current category to 100%, and then add Best Ending.

Any% would be just get to the end, nothing else, although I do feel that would be an awful category. It would be spend the whole in-game day failing Bargain of Earthly Defrights and doing the Pat minigames in-between. But if people want it, I guess it could be added.

As the person that submitted the run in question, I'm sorry for the dilemma I've presented, but I would like to back JuegAriel's two category system, since I think best ending would make for a fast run that is still interesting and would result in some difference in the routing since the amount of puzzle pieces needed would be down to 32 from all 48. This allows for some lengthy pieces locked behind dialogues and successful minigames (looking at you Geraldine) to be skipped entirely. For 100%, I would like part of the rules to be successfully passing each minigame since some can be failed or skipped and still receive the badge (e.g. Clancy and Maria can be left unfinished; Joanie can be failed but will result in no puzzle piece). Any% would be mad snooze.
