2.: Spam Simulation games. They are (so far) unarguably the fastest. The WR (as of 12th of October, 2015) didn't involve naming each game respectively.

5.: As of now, the 7th game decides on WR. This is because with this strategy, the 7th game is the earliest likely game to be granted a 9+ score´and therefore selling the copies needed to get to 1 million money. Therefore when your 7th game is not a 9+ -> RESET.


Tips 'n' Stuff:

Don't read any messages. If you want to play the game, play it and don't run it.

Don't let any bugs slip through. It will pay off. Trust me.

7th game. Remember. Else -> RESET.

Don't research anything. No sxceptions. Got not enought topics? -> RESET. Also never create game reports or just never do anything else except spam simulation games.

ByeOffice% Route (Outdated for now)

TheMadWasp posted a good guide for the mechanics of the game, but there's not a specific route to follow for new players so I thought I would make one. WARNING: This route is about half sitting and doing nothing so be prepared.

There are four sections of the games, the Garage, Office 1, Office 2, and Office 3, all of which I'll go over in detail later, but for the most part it doesn't matter how much time you take in each section, just as long as you hit the last check point for Office 2 and aren't sitting in menus. That means it doesn't matter if you leave the Garage in 7 minutes or 12 minutes, and head scratches don't matter. The best optimizations would be to produce less games (current WR has 16), because the game concept menu plus the slider menu plus the review menu is a ton of time, especially compared to all the other menus.

The Garage is very simple, the goal is to have the last game be a 10/10/10/9, which should make 2-3 million and fund the start of Office 1 with no issues. We are going to be making simulation games because they will show up commonly later, are good on pretty much every later console, and ideally we won't have to change the sliders too much. For console we will use the G64 for only the Garage. You have to start with 2 simulation topics (reset until that happens), and then set up the sliders for the first game at 80%/100%/0%, 0%/80%/100%, 0%/100%/80%. Make four simulation games and alternate the topics each time. After the four games generate game reports until you have at least 65 points. Then you want to research custom engine and mono sound, and then make a game engine with everything in it. 
For Game 5 you want to not add any new features except for 2D Graphics V2, Game 6 you want to add on Mono Sound, and then Game 7 add on Linear Story and Savegame. Ideally Game 7 should get at least two 10s, so just wait for the reviews to come in because making a Game 8 won't make any money/generate fans so it is just a pointless menu. If Game 7 isn't two 10s, reset or just make a Game 8 and that should make 2 10s. After the first week or two of the game being out you should have 1M and be able to upgrade to Office 1 (There is a little bit of bubble math and RNG that comes into play, but I routed this to manip the bubble totals a bit for Game 5-7, so Game 7 should get 10s).

Office 1 has two stages, getting 100k fans through publishing deals to be able to publish medium games independently, and then getting enough money to last the rest of the game. Immediately once you get into the office train yourself in Staff Management, and once that's done hire 3 employees. For employees don't adjust the slider but get one Complex Algorithm (Tech), one Showreel (Design), and the third one doesn't matter but I usually go Showreel. You are looking for someone around 300 in their specified trait. After you have all 3 employees train everyone in Staff Welcome Training. Completing actions fills up the efficiency bar faster, so after that you can generate game reports for RP and research items for your next game engine. After you've done all you can, just sit until all the bars are mostly filled up. 
Now comes the publishing deals, best case scenario is getting a Any Topic/Any Genre or X/Simulation. Your goal is to just pick deals that will make the topics have a strong combo (here is the site I have pulled up on my second monitor: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=216784744). It is fine if you switch off simulation but make sure its a strong combo and try to have the sliders for the genres memorized (another cheat, use for slider %s: https://forum.greenheartgames.com/t/great-combinations-list-time-allocation-sliders/7705). Until you reach 100k fans (which should be about on your 14th game if you did Garage in 7) you are only doing publishing deals, so just pick good ones and adjust the sliders (console and royalties don't matter).
For assigning employees, to optimize the most bubbles (and in turn better ratings), you want Tech/Design/Design, 3rd/3rd/Tech, You/You/You. In between every game train every employee in their respective attribute (Tech: Code Incomplete, Design: Game Design for Pirates, Yourself and the 3rd: Game Dev Games). The only time you won't train is when you make your next game engine, which will occur when you reach 2D Graphics V2 to Level 3, which unlocks 3D Graphics V1 (about after Game 9). Once you unlock 3D Graphics V1, research all the new features you can and make a game engine with everything and the first game throw every feature on. Then keep on the path to 100k fans.
Once you reached 100k fans (around the mid to high teens in Game #), you get a good chance to practice what you will be doing for a majority of the remainder time, sitting and doing nothing. The only thing you have to do while you sit is click escape key whenever the G3 convention pops up, which is the start of M5  of some year.
The last exciting thing you will do will occur on Y8M7W1, which is research sequels. After you've researched sequels create a sequel on the Gameling for your first game and then your second game (unless you just made a game that has the same topic and genre as your first, in that case do sequel for second then sequel for first) and they both should get very high ratings and make a lot of money. After both the sequels you should have about 25M+ and now you get to apply the skill you just practiced, sitting and doing nothing except clicking escape at the start of M5 every year (be prepared its a long wait). Once Y11M6W2 rolls around upgrade to Office 2.

Office 2 is literally just waiting until Y13M9W2 to upgrade to Office 3. I know, fun right. You actually do get some action this split because you have to hire one more employee before the deadline. That is the most exciting thing you will do in 8 minutes.

Once you get into Office 3 search for a Showreel employee with the slider up to 2M. You are looking for someone with over 700 Design, and you should have about 2-3 searches where 5 people to hire come up, so unless you get insanely unlucky you will be fine. Once you hire the employee train them to be a Design Specialist and then once the training is complete click the notification and open up the R&D Lab and then run is over.

Game Dev Tycoon – GameOver% Guide
Author’s Note:
Hello! Thanks for taking the time to read this guide as you begin your GameOver% grind . I wanted to write this because this game is deceptively difficult and I had to figure most of this out on my own. This guide is meant for those who have played this game casually and have a basic understanding of the mechanics. Let’s get started! 

Category Overview:
GameOver% has it all in the name: your goal is to reach the Game Over screen as fast as possible. In Game Dev Tycoon (GDT) this means reaching -54k in the red. The rules for this category are simple; the timer starts when you click “New Game” and ends when you reach “Game Over”. One of the reasons I like this category so much is that there are plenty of things that you can control with just enough RNG added in to make it interesting every time. With that being said, let’s jump into some strategy!

Terminology:
•	Menu-ing – This refers to the precise clicks and navigation of all menu screens in the game.
•	Cycle – “Cycles” refer to the three different menu navigation parts of the game. First cycle begins when you press the “New Game” button and ends after you confirm “trashing” the game. Second Cycle begins as soon as you begin menu-ing to create your second game and ends after you confirm “trashing” the game. Third Cycle begins as soon as you begin menu-ing to create your third game and ends after you press “No” on the bank offer pop-up and get to the “Game Over” Screen.

RNG in GDT GO%:
To begin this guide, I think it is imperative to discuss and understand the different RNG elements of this game. 
•	Game Values – You have four point categories at the top of your UI: Bugs, Design, Technology and Research. As you develop a game, these values increase as a result of RNG and likewise can affect how fast you can race to destroy your game. Keep an eye on your values throughout the game; you will want to have LOW values in order to progress quicker with the exception of “Bugs” which doesn’t negatively affect the outcome. After you have completed a game, the “Game Ready” screen will appear and count how many values you’ve collected in each category. This meaning that having a low value game makes the values add up faster (because there are less of them) and thus the Game Ready screen faster to navigate through. It should be noted that low game values only marginally effect your time and should (almost) never trigger a reset.
•	Head Scratcher – Public Enemy #1. Your character has a variety of animations that are also a product of randomness. One such animation is an Auto-Reset and it is what I like to call the “Head Scratcher”. As the name suggests, your character will stop what he/she is doing and scratch their head. This stops ALL development on a game for a good 4-5 seconds and is impossible to recover from. This happens with unfortunate regularity. There are 3 phases inside each development stage that have a chance of producing a Head Scratcher so you need to definitely be on the lookout for them (& pray that they don’t ruin your WR attempt  ). 
•	Transition into Game Ready Screen – Animations play a large role in determining how fast the “Game Ready” screen will show up after clicking on “Finish Game” at the top of the UI. Sometimes you will get a great transition time (1-2 seconds) and other times (more often than not) you will get a slow transition time (3-5) seconds. Nothing you can do about this, but it is important to note that as soon as you see your character leaning back in his/her chair, the Game Ready screen will appear. From my observations, you will transition the fastest if your character is at the end of an animation cycle. 
•	Bank Offer / End Game – The last bit of RNG in this run is in how long the Bank Offer screen takes to show up. Ideally you would want it to show up immediately, but that is unlikely to happen. It shouldn’t take more than 3-4 seconds for the screen to appear. There is a very small chance that after you set up your 3rd game for the game development sliders to appear, ending your run. 

Strategy:
The part we’ve all been waiting for – how do I beat this category? I’ll try to organize this the best I can, but it may be a little messy.

Opening – There are two set ups and each are viable. You can either delete all of your game saves (skipping 2 menus) and start the game, or you can overwrite a game save during your first cycle. I’ll post the game save locations below. It can be time consuming to constantly delete all of the saves so for these purposes let’s assume that you are going to overwrite a save (that is the set up I use). 
•	Click on “New Game” and immediately shift your mouse down to the opening pop up message and click through the messages to speed them up. You will be able to see where to put your mouse early before the button comes up by looking for your cursor to change to a hand. 
•	After navigating through that menu, (this is the beginning of one of the harder portions) you will have to shift your mouse down to the last button on the character creation screen and skip the customization. It is important to note that your cursor should be on the LEFT-CENTER of the bottom button so when you navigate to the next screen it is already in the correct position.
•	Immediately after clicking the bottom button on the character screen, you should click through the Hint popup and immediately raise your mouse up to ROW 3 of your save games and double click. Your goal is to confirm the over-writing of a save slot as fast as possible. Feel free to view my 1:18 run to see what I mean. Alternatively, you can go a bit slower and instead of double clicking you individually click on the save slot and then quickly click through the confirmation button.

First Cycle – 
•	Begin developing a game as soon as possible. Ideally you want your mouse to be in between the rug and the car so that when you create a game, your mouse is already over the “Platform” selection screen so that you can quickly click through that menu and select the G64. You CANNOT complete this category with a PC. 
•	Double click on the genre, as it doesn’t matter which one you choose. This will ensure that you get out of that selection as fast as possible.
•	Click on “Topic” and go straight up to click the first topic you see.
•	After completing this, navigate to the next screen and click 2D graphics and then start developing your game

Sliders – 
•	Immediately click through the sliders as you do not need to set them to any particular order – just get out of the screen as soon as possible. Do this for all sliders.

Game Ready – 
•	You will want to position your mouse in the bottom left corner so that you can immediately hit the small red button that Trashes the game. Afterwards click on the confirmation bubble and go into the Second Cycle

Notes – 
•	Be aware that after the first Slider option on the 2nd cycle, a pop up will appear alerting you to your failing financial situation. You will want to be sure to move your mouse up (away from the slider button) in order to click this as fast as possible.
•	The run ends when you decline the option to get a loan from the bank
•	A good test to see whether or not you have a good time going is to look at your time at the 2nd Cycle and if you are >43 seconds in then you are good to go, otherwise probably just reset.

Updated ByeGarage% (and 10/10%) Guide

Here's a rough explanation of what is going on in 10/10% and ByeGarage new routing if you don't want to watch or don't understand the like 5ish mins of the run. It's all RNG so have fun resetting a lot.

1. Start off by not naming your company, and no games will be needed to be named either
	1a. Make sure you have at least 2 simulation topics

2. Create 3 games that are all a 1.5x new game combo (new topic and same genre or both new)
	2a. You can set your sliders before the first game or after the trashed games, no time difference just preference
	2b. Since you have no games published you can spam click on the screen and no menus will pop up

3.Trash all 3 games that you made, we are looking to get a total of 350 Player XP so you level up to level 2
	3a. Player XP gain is a random value from 90-125 and is usually in the 100s, so if you get less than 110 it is very unlikely you will get 350, but its still possible
	3b. A slightly slower route is to trash 4 games instead of 3, but you will always hit Player level 2 on 4 games

4. After your three games and hitting Player level 2, adjust your sliders if you haven't already and create 3 simulation games for the PC
	4a. Sliders should be (80/100/0) (0/80/100) (0/100/80)
	4b. Your first game needs to be around 28 total bubbles, and then your second and third should be no less than 28 with the third ideally being 30+

5. Your third released game should get 10/10/10/9 and then just wait to hit 1M and move out of the garage

Updated ByeOffice% Guide (Short Version)

This is how you do ByeOffice%, I'm not going to explain anything too in-depth, just the basics and how to beat it with the current route.

Stage 1: 10/10

The goal here is to reach 1M cash as quickly as possible.
If you know the current ByeGarage% Strat then you can skip to the next section, for those that don't here is what you need to do:

Make your first game, select the platform to be PC, don't name it and adjust the sliders for a Simulation game. Once it's done, trash it. Keep doing this until your character levels up to level 2.

Make your first actual game, make sure the genre is Simulation, once it's completed, release it. If the rating is high enough you should get a popup that says "According to our market research...", if you don't get this you can still continue the run but if you're going for a really optimal time it's best you just reset and try again.

Repeat this again, make sure the Topic is different this time, then release the game. The next popup you get should say "The Latest game by Company Name...". Make one more game and release that and you should get a game with a rating of 10/10/10/9. At which point you'll earn well over 1M cash.

Sidenote: You can make G64 games instead of PC games, if it works then you'll have well over 2M+ cash but from my experience it's a lot less likely to work.

Stage 2: ByeGarage

Once you reach 1M, all you have to do is wait, that's it. The reason we're waiting is because we want to be able to research Marketing, and it's a lot cheaper to stay in the Garage than the first office. Marketing becomes available to research on Y4/M4/W2, however it is ideal that you wait out for slightly longer, preferably until Year 6 or 7.

It's also best that before you move out you research Target Audience.

Stage 3: 100K Fans

Once you're in the office, you should train for Staff Management and Hire 3 people. One with Complex Algorithms, one with Showreel, and the third generally doesn't matter though I usually go for Game Demo or Showreel.

Train them for Staff Welcome Training and research Medium Games, once you've done that Publishing Deals should become available.

When doing a Publishing Deal you obviously want a good Topic/Genre combo, but you should also really pay attention to what console you're developing for. Ideally you'd develop for the Gameling every time since throughout most of this run it is the most popular platform, don't worry too much about it but keep it in mind.

Also since you have Target Audience, you want to aim to develop for a Young Audience if you're doing Gameling or Super TES, other platforms generally are best with Everyone as the Target Audience. If a topic you're developing for is terrible for a Young Audience though then just do it for Everyone instead.

If you get no publishing deals that work, you can refresh it by going out of the menu and then going back in, you may get one or two new deals, but if nothing still comes up, you can either research a topic that works for your deals, or wait 6 months for new publishing deals to come in. I recommend the latter.

If you get a deal that works, while developing make sure you Market the Game for Small Campain (or something less expensive if you can't afford it)

You'll need to also place your staff in the following order:

Engine: Technology
Gameplay: Design
Story/Quests: Design

Dialogues: Design
Level Design: Design
Artificial Inteligence: Technology

World Design: Your player
Graphics: Your player
Sound: Your player

If you do this and iron out all the bugs, you should get a good selling game and earn a considerable number of fans.

Once you're done, if you can do anothing publishing deal, take another one and repeat.

You should also look to do Staff Training between every other game. I usually recommend Game Dev Gems for this bit.

Repeat this about 3 or 4 times and you should hit 100K fans, if not then keep going until you do.

Stage 4: 16M Game

Once you reach 100K fans you can stop with Publishing deals and Self-Publish 1 more game. Make sure it's developed for the most popular platform and for the correct target audience. Also market the game with either a Small or Large Campaign.

Keep the staff placement the same

Once you release it you should get a very high review score and sell enough copies to get over 16M cash. if you get less or just barely over 16M then you're going to need to develop another game. Hopefully though you'll end up with over 20M+ cash.

Stage 5: Office Renovation

All you have to do for this stage is fire you staff, wait for Year 11 and then hire 1 more person (doesn't matter what field you choose) and wait for Y11 M6 W2.

Stage 6: ByeOffice

Hire two more people (again, field doesn't matter)

At this point in the run you should have 100+ Research points. if not then do Game reports or Contracts until you do.

Wait for Y13 M9 W2 so you can move out

Stage 7: R&D Lab

Hire one more member of staff with 700+ Design Points (easier to do this with Showreel) and then Train them up to be a Design Specialist.

While you're waiting for your Staff search there should be a menu popup telling you that you can build an R&D lab, you want to click on that and click through those menus as quick as you can to make them disappear.

Once you've hired your staff and trained them, you should get a popup asking you if you want to build the R&D Lab, click on it and accept it.

Congrats, you've just completed ByeOffice%

Wow this guide was longer than I thought, and this is the SHORT version.

There will be a longer guide soon that fully explains how everything properly works, these are just the absolute basics that you need to know.
