I've been working on Siege of Dragonspear any% current patch (which I assume would go under BG:EE). Since there aren't any videos anywhere (that I've seen) I figured maybe if I post/submit something it will generate interest.

Anyway my question is, does it matter if I make a character once so I can just import the same one, or should I make a new one on the recording? I've seen both looking at different people's runs. Any additional information regarding submissions would be helpful as well. I just want to make sure I'm doing everything I'm supposed to do.
