All Categories Route

The best route for All Categories stays the same regardless of whether or not you play with White or Black pieces.

1. Victory - You're relying on your opponent making a certain move so it's best to start here and reset the whole run if it doesn't work.
2. Draw - The longest part of the run and it requires the most skill out of everything.
3. Lose - Free
4. GiveUp - Free

Doing them in any other order still works, but you might lose more runs to bad RNG

Defeat Route

Here's the Route for beating the Defeat categories, it's self-explanatory if you just watch a run but I'll explain it in a bit more detail here.

Regardless of which side you play, you need to have your opponent set to Level 6. Any higher and it'll cause the opponent to think which will lose you time, and if you go any lower the opponent may make a completely random move that won't help you lose.

White Pieces:
This is known as the Fool's Mate

Move your pawn on f2 to f3, your opponent will then place their e7 pawn to e5
Finally, move your pawn on g2 to g4, your opponent will the place their Queen on h4, putting your King in Checkmate

Black Pieces:

This one is a bit more complicated.

If your opponent moves any of their Knights, puts their a2 pawn on a3 or c2 pawn on c4, you have to reset, if you continue the opponent will not make the correct move for you to beat this category in the best time. Any other move is fine.

Your first move should be to move your pawn on f7 to f6. Your opponent should play their e2 pawn to e4 if they didn't do it last turn.
Move your King to f7, the opponent will move their Queen to h5, putting your King in Check.
Only legal move is King to e6 at which point your opponent will play their Queen to d5, putting your King in Checkmate.

And that's how you lose at Wii Chess against the AI in the quickest time.

How to play wii chess Jap On any wii

Warning: For this tutorial you need a wii softmodded with Homebrew channel.

How To Play Wii Chess On EMU Text Tutorial (Read Bottom)

If you don't know, Wii Chess is a region locked game, so if you live in America, you can't play on a physical copy of this game (Unless you have Homebrew and a wad installer on your Wii). However, you can still emulate it, which is what the main runners on this leaderboard do. Here, I'll be showing you how to play this game on the Dolphin emulator.

Step 1: Download Dolphin

Step 2: Download The Wii Chess Files

Step 3: Open Dolphin And Play!
When you download the file, the file should be called "RTYP01" Leave this file as it is, you don't need to do anything to it. Open up Dolphin, select "File" in the top left, select "Open" and locate the Wii Chess file. When you find it, open it up. When you open it, another window should pop up and the game should be booted up! When you play, you don't need a wii remote. You can use your Keyboard or even and Xbox controller. Whatever works! 

Edit 1: It was discovered that the PAL version is about 1.3 second slower than the NTSC-J version. Download the NTSC-J version here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1Y5P8UWT-mXFYsMZagNDN2AJNVVGoSJe8 You have to look around for the file, but it's called "Tsūshin Taikyoku: World Chess" This file doesn't need to be converted either, just open it in dolphin.

Routes for the Victory Categories

Hi, In this guide I'll be teaching you how to run both Victory - White Pieces, and Victory - Black Pieces.

Victory - White Pieces: Victory White Pieces has arguably the most rng in any category. You'll get one of the two good patterns about 1 in every 15 runs. The route for this is to use the level 1 CPU, then once you begin the game, start off by moving E2 to E4, then moving D1 (Queen) to H5, then move E4 to E5, then E5 to E6, then finally H5 to F7. Now back to the RNG portion of the run. The only times you should continue with a run is if the CPUs first move is either: 1. B7 (second most left pawn) to B6, or 2. G8 (Knight on the right) to F6. Any other beginning move by the CPU will lead to not being able to checkmate as soon as possible.

Victory - Black Pieces: Victory Black Pieces has RNG, but a lot less compared to White Pieces. You'll get the pattern needed about 75% of the time. The route for this run is to use the level 1 CPU, then once you begin the game, start off by moving E7 to E5, then E5, to E4, then E4, to E3. Then move D8 (Queen) to H4, finally, move H4 to F2. The beginning move from the CPU that can lead to a successful run is B2 (second most right pawn) to B4.
