So, admittedly in my foolishness, I did not realize that SDC (Single Discipline Championship) Rally currently skips one track in each event, which has resulted in me practicing and running on all tracks. As I find racing speedrunning is at its best when consistency is the key, I wonder if it's worth adding an SDC Rally All Tracks category. Any thoughts on that?
Just catching up on this thread, and thanks for your thoughts Fiftylaren! I agree that the RNG element of Championships isn't ideal and doesn't create a true contest of skill, but I also think that's a good deal of what makes those runs exciting, and strategic.
I think for now, Championships will remain the first category listed BUT I will create a Grand Prix version of the rules, which will allow for the 3Lap% in all clear weather as a true skill contest category. I think this is the best compromise, because I really like how the strategic elements of the current Championship any% category have developed out.
Will be interested to hear your thoughts and feedback on the Grand Prix ruleset :)
Kia ora F1 runners!
We've just modified the rules for the All Tracks, Hard%, and Williams% category to remove the requirement to complete qualifying sessions, as this wasn't a requirement of the any% category either. Technically, this was an oversight in the rules writing but we're going to make it official in the interest of faster runs.
Looking forward to seeing your new times with this new consideration!
Kia ora F1 runners, prospective and active alike!
I'm still learning my way around modding an SRC leaderboard, poking at the edges, finding new functionality, etc. As such, when I wrote the first draft of the rules, the formatting was a bit weird and long.
The rules have now been updated so that only the applicable variants rules show up when you're filtering runs by that category (so the rules for All Tracks show up when you're filtering by all tracks, etc). This makes the rules much easier to look at and parse for a given category.
I've also added team tracking to the leaderboards so we can take a look at run trends by team and see if Mercedes dominates or if there's room for Ferrari or another team on the boards. This also theoretically allows filtering by team so if you only wanted to compete for the best Renault time, you could!
I'd also like to congratulate our first two real entrants into the Any% category, Mash4314 and Kw1q51lv3r_Vorian, both posting sub-3 hour runs!
Enjoy those speedy race cars, I'm looking forward to seeing more submissions and competition as time goes on.
I'm interested in picking up running this game, but I've got the PC version (https://store.steampowered.com/app/582260/ExtremeG_2/). As things stand, there's no PC leaderboards or ability to submit a run of this title using this version of the game.
Could PC leaderboards be created to allow this version of the game to be run?
Missed the guides section somehow. Thanks for the pointer in the right direction!
Any chance of getting saves that are ready to load into the complete edition? My current Single Discipline run is on my actual save, and either I'm mucking up trying to load the saves from Resources or there's some incompatibility as a result of them being from the non-Complete Edition of D3. Any thoughts?
