I'm pretty sure everyone knows that Night Slashers is coming to the Switch through Johnny Turbo's arcade in some near future. I can't wait to start learning this game.

Hopefully, the switch version will be added to the leaderboard when it becomes available.

While learning DD ACA today I noticed a few things of interest.

1). Easy mode is similar to normal mode on the stream version in terms of damage to enemies. ( namely one back elbow, kick to hair pull/ 2 knee bash and throw.)

2). High Kick can be used against baseball bat enemies.

3). They fixed the part where you can manipulate Abobo into throwing the player to the balcony where Wily is. You can no longer land there if thrown.

For those of you who watch my runs of this game, I tend to use Nelson over Flak. So, you may be wondering why I use Nelson. To explain this I need to go over Flak.

Flak tends to be faster but less powerful than Nelson, but he does have several things that keep him from being used.

1). Chain attack issues- When you do chain attacks with Flak, throwing one punch makes him do three punches, though the game only registers probably the first one as hittable, this also happens on the second hit of the chain. In between these first two attacks, it's possible for enemies to break your chain by attacking Flak. In fact, Flak needs angry mode more the Nelson does to make his attack more efficient.

2). Too many OTG (on the ground) grab setups- A good deal of Flak's attacks cause OTG setups; though it's good to use after a run attack, Flak's backdrop, leg sweep, and knee attacks aren't very useful especially when you want the damage of the backdrop and leg sweep, which are Flak's best attacks. The knee is just not very useful, unlike Nelson's low blow.

3). Terrible neutral grab attack- Like I said, the knee attack is useless as it'll cause a knockdown rather than stunning enemies and continue chain attacks.

4). Running slide attack can knock enemies out of bounds- While the slide useful for certain enemies and bosses if you're not careful you might knock them out of bounds and you have to wait till they reappear.

In the end, Nelson just has better options despite limited punch and run attack range.

1). The low blow can be used to stun lock enemies into a nearly endless chain attack.

2). Chain attack is consistent.

3). The run attack is the best option for OTG grab setups. Enemies that were thrown by powerbomb or hit by splash damage via frankensteiner can be OTG grabbed.

4). Frankensteiner has faster throw animation than the powerbomb and it doesn't require you to grab enemies from behind.

A small tip for anyone planning to get into speedrunning Brawl Brothers/Rushing Beat Fukusei Toshi.

According to the game's storyline, Rick and Douglas's recruits for their new gym get kidnapped by Dieter/Iceman. When you start your game/run, You'll be tasked with selecting two characters; the first one you select will be the one you control when you start on stage 1; the other hero'heroine is removed from the boss order.

Selecting the first hero/heroine determines the boss order for the first 3 stages. For example, I select Douglas/Slash as my first character; therefore, the order will be Wendy or Kazan, Hack/Rick, and Lord J. Hack/Rick and Lord J will always be the bosses for stages 2 and 3 unless the runner chooses one of them. It's important to do some casual playthroughs first to determine and understand the boss order each of the characters. It's also wise to select Wendy or Kazan as the second character since their boss fights are the hardest.

Wow, I had it right the whole time. I normally had it set to -6.35 or -6.37 but I'll try -7.00 next time though. Of course for RTA, I'll probably have to start the timer once I get control of my character.

Kentucky, USArotorstorm3317 years ago

Well, that turned out to be harder then I thought. For anyone running this game, the best time to start your time is when your character's life bar and timer appear on screen, that IS when you gain control of your character. Its a lot harder if your using a laptop like I do, but not impossible.

Well, that's interesting news indeed. Time to redo splits again. lol

It seems I was made a moderator for Rival Turf, but I screwed up and added the same run twice and I don't have any Ideal how to remove the second one. Does anyone know how to do that?

Kentucky, USArotorstorm3318 years ago

I'm glad my Hard mode run got accepted, but I would like to submit some Easy and Normal runs to SpeedRun.com.

Easy and Normal modes would indeed be more faster than Hard and Expert, mostly due to the fact enemies take full damage from all of your characters attacks as opposed to nearly half the damage in Hard or Expert.

If any of the moderators are reading this and decide to add those categories to the Leaderboard, I would more then gladly submit Easy and Normal runs.

Its been a while since I did expert, I might have to do that run again in the near future.

This is my first time on this board, so I might as well introduce myself; I'm Rotorstorm331, got into speed running from watching AGDQ and SGDQ videos on YouTube and joined SDA Forums after AGDQ 2014. Been learning to speed run since then; speed running Final Fight 2 for two years now; also been speed running Rival Turf (Rushing Beat) and Brawl Brothers (Rushing Beat Ran).

Also plan to learn to speed run Mega Man 2 Any% zipless, Final Fantasy Mystic Quest Any%, and Castlevania 2: Simon's Quest.
