SakuraFreak: I'll add you because the board was set up empty and you have a run.
Scrub_Busta: Twitch PM sent
AlphaCreeps: Okay, mod inactive
mugg1991: Both of these have at least one active mod, you should contact them, as they can choose to add you.
Chizinha: Added, mod was inactive.
Trollbear: If you're going to comment in this thread regularly, please try to sound constructive instead of sounding demanding. =|
SakuraFreak: Ecco: Added, moderator is way inactive. SotN: Moderator does seem to run the Saturn version, so I think your portrayal of "knowing nothing about the game" is an overexaggeration. It's probably more the case that you think the categories are suboptimally set up. CVSpeedruns is down right now, so I can't reference them to see if you have runs and/or moderate there, so I'll respond to this request again when it's back up.
YTXZ: Freedom Planet: I'll go ahead and add you because it's a small board, you run the game, and they don't appear to be responding.
CritLuck: MH3U: Current moderator seems active, and you haven't submitted a run as far as I can tell. Talk with the series moderator if you wanted added.
Mavik: The Zoo Race: Yeah it needs cleaned up and moderator is inactive, added.
Cyberdemon531: I'm not going to override a legitimate community consensus unless it unnecessarily deviates from site norms.
thomasvandeerse: I went ahead and fixed that. I can do "raise my time" easily, "lower my time" would have to go through the game moderators again. :P
Izraill: Thanks for the heads up, I check for these things beforehand, and I'm pretty well familiar with X runners by now.
jjbinks2: Contact the series moderator or use the site's Game Request form: http://www.speedrun.com/requestgame
timetravelpenguin: I don't think people are greatly influenced in what speedgame they choose by how updated the speedrun.com page is. Anyway I'll add you because the current mod is inactive.
General note to others posting in this thread: Please try to offer constructive solutions such as "Try doing this" instead of saying "You should've done this." Also only posts by site staff (Full mods and admins) should be interpreted as official, if that was unclear. Site staff does get to all requests, it may take a few days obviously.
To do: SakuraFreak - SotN Scrub_Busta: - I'll look into your issue more closely and respond on Tuesday or Wednesday. I need to check on some specifics of the site interface or have someone go into the database. I'm not at my main PC right now.
Over a month in advance is a bit much. (People seem to love requesting things 6 months in advance so there has to be some practical limit.) Request the series in October via the game/series request form when the game comes out or shortly before please (like a week in advance and add a note that current moderators for a game in the series want to prep it.)
You can leave notes in the game request form interspersed among things that aren't the game title.
Pac can probably help you out with this, you probably need to ping him on twitter or by e-mail.
Did Pac add this and then not put it anywhere in the interface? :P
I think the longer term solution to this is to modularize forum bans (e.g. 1 month ban, 2 month ban, unlimited ban) and then get an automated queue in place and get sitewide forum moderator privileges to help handle things. It's difficult to have 24/7 moderators without getting quite a few people involved.
Then we probably need something to handle people spamming reporting of users.
Broedgeman: Gave the current mod super mod. He can reattach it to the series now if you ask him. If there's issue/dissent let us know.
Dr_Krabbs: Added due to inactivity.
Racingmonster: He never got back to me on Twitch and the board is out of date and only has one run, so I'll switch moderators.
LastTofus: This game was just added, I'm not going to add moderators this soon. Feel free to contact him and discuss.
Sk1pBaSe: Game was added via your game request submission making you automatically a moderator.
To Do:
Scrub_Busta: I can't quickly verify this account of events because I can't get moderator logs without going into the database. I'll message him on Twitch and if he has anything to say. Might take a few days to sort out, sorry.
BlueInfinity22: I added it yesterday. If you didn't get a notification in the last 24 hours then they would appear to have broken again >_>; Could you confirm whether or not you have a notification?
I try not to let the game request queue get behind more than about 5 days max.
Regarding game covers: The modular solution would be to have an arbitrary number of game covers for an arbitrary number of versions, but there's probably other more useful things to work on for now.
First, the fact that when you add an extra variable, the leaderboard shows the whole leaderboard by default and he doesn't want it. Like if it would be sub-categories, the solution could be to be able for game mods to disable the "show all runs by default" and force the leaderboard viewever to choose a category and by default take the english one. That's ONE solution, not the easiest to do for admins, but just asking. "
I tend to favor solutions that allow moderators to highlight things that are featured vs things that are tracked. Having a visual way to discern when runs are not directly comparable due to certain variables being different would be helpful.
I don't really favor a solution that entirely prevents users from putting all the data in one table. The solution should imply "It doesn't make great sense to look at the data this way, but if you really want to go ahead and click this button" vs "You're not allowed to look at the data this way." The latter is a bad restriction to place on the user in my opinion.
Also it would be helpful if the filters and defaults supported multiple value selection. (Example: US and JP but not PAL)
The whole of this is a relatively important issue for many games.
"If you make it a variable and set english as the default value, the leaderboard will only show english runs by default, not all. "
This doesn't exist currently except hard-coded for a game or two, right?
Also, if the feature I suggest is made, the profile page & the run page would be weird, because it would displays the ranking of the whole category, not the english one. Thus, making it inexact.
This is probably true as Lighnat0r says. Ideally it would probably reflect all of the default settings, but it gets increasingly complicated.
Deleted - No site users that have runs had any objections.
Daniel: I'll go ahead and add you for those two games, since you moderate numerous individual Dragonball games already and you're the only one who runs these two.
ButtersBB: Added because I know you well enough to know you're not biasing the discussion. Just use your own objective discretion with the board.
YTXZ: I promoted the other mod to a super mod, could you contact him, since he is actually active?
(Will try to remember to look into "Way of Life" next cycle of responses.)
(If any requests weren't addressed by myself, Gyoo, or AMVX, let us know.)
You're a late notification HotPokket /
I think the functionality may have been changed to "you can't delete the game unless you yourself created it" (maybe there was another criteria?) Maybe this needs another look to clarify? It was changed after a string of games had to be recovered because users make suboptimal decisions at times.
We want to dis-incentivize deleting games because it's unnecessary work for the database managers to recover them. If you want games removed contact a full mod or admin.
There has been a good amount of thought to this, but it's a very complex update (not in the near future) involving many modularity changes.
Notifications should be fixed (at least for the most part?) Let us know if there are still issues.
I think right now the donation has to be from your e-mail address to be automatic (as far as I know). If it's not from the same e-mail it has to be done manually. Was there an issue here?
Am I wrong on that?
Emails and notifications are hopefully fixed now.
Morgan: Pac handled the deletion, we still need an extra button added for that.
It might be nice to have a togglable option under "Settings" like "Appear in 'Streams' tab" that would default to being checked for existing users or something along those lines.
Fly_Amanita: The simple thought should be feasible I imagine. There's been a lot of bugfixes this week, so it might be a bit before we're back to minor feature addition.
