I think this might've broken with the update. I think you always used to have to do /user to get to a profile, but I might be wrong.

Just to clarify, I said it's not possible for the two layouts to coexist at the same time. The notion of "optional layout" doesn't exist. The old code is in a git repo, I do not know how much effort it would take to roll back the front-end. Particularly, I do not know if anything was changed in the database via scripts to support the changes. I also don't know if a partial rollback is possible or if it's all or nothing. I'll discuss the path forward with the others. None of us like a broken site any more than anyone else does.

Processed the queue up to July 6th I think. Still about 70 requests in queue, will go through more when I have time. People play lots of video games.

Use the X next to "Individual levels" or "Individual level categories" (It's misaligned due to the layout, we're aware.)

Discuss it with the moderators. In general it's frowned upon, but JP communities have allowed turbo in the past for some runs. It's possible the moderators weren't aware turbo was used as you're claiming. (I don't have enough knowledge of the game to tell just by glancing.)

Gantor: There is a user with that username who got the account 6 months ago. If it was more like a year I would consider deleting the account if there was no real user data associated with it (runs, posts, etc.)

It is simply not possible to allow both the current layout and the previous layout at the same time. This is not a simple graphical change, it is a large overhaul of the front-end code of the site to use structures to support varying resolution screens. It is not possible to use the old layout with the new structures. It is also not reasonable to maintain two sets of structures going forward.

I do think utility is extremely important, but I do not think switching to the new front-end necessarily precludes utility. There are blatant bugs currently and I think some visual implementations need revisited, but I do think these are reasonably solvable problems within the currently presented code.

I understand there are many concerns, and I think we all dislike issues with the site. I'll list some of the issues just to try to summarize multiple pages:

1: Lots of bugs, not a lot of testing. 2: Text unnecessarily spread out, unnecessary menus at times. 3: Sometimes hard to get to certain pieces of information, like comments. 4: Background colors bad in some spots. 5: User avatar GIFs right now, yuck. 6: This week was probably not a good week to do a major site overhaul due to events going on.

These should all be very fixable problems. The spacing and menus may not be exactly the same as they were before, but making things more compact is something that can be worked towards. If the visual bugs get fixed quickly, quality of life issues are fixed, and the layout is optimized to be more compact and user-friendly, I don't expect issues sticking with this code. I definitely get that people don't like broken code and broken layouts for the short term.

My opinion is that if the bugs get fixed quickly, the layout may need some visual items revisited, but the site will then be sufficiently stable and functional for the time being with a more modular layout going forward to support all viewing platforms.

dylan8915: Adding you because you were there. If you are able to provide videos for your runs I'd recommend doing so.

stEEx: Discuss it with the current active mods please. Adding people through this thread is a last resort when people are inactive or having major issues.

tehjman1993: The short response is that it would make life easier for everyone if game requests got routed through series moderators. The decision making would be more consistent at the lowest layer and would prevent a lot of issues up front. The site isn't quite wired to allow that at the moment. I can discuss with the others about trying to implement a fix for this. In concurrence with that, I think it's still a step in the right direction to have the game units slightly more separated from the series units, so that people aren't fighting about whether or not a checkbox is checked or not.

PeteThePlayer: Series moderation doesn't inherit automatically any more due to a decision we made based on our perception of what would cause less conflict and the inheritance code greatly straining the site when generating user's lists of games they moderate and runs to verify.

I think there might still be legacy functionality where you can't delete a run until you've been a member of the site for a while.

Just submit an additional run for now.

Automated attaching of runs to accounts was removed maybe 4-6 months ago. Your account was created prior to that, so likely the runs were either added in that timeframe between you making your account and 6 months ago, or the runs were gained when the account was created and you didn't notice.

MLSTRM: My guess is some user was being a moron. We'll look in the site log to figure out who and remove them from all boards. I removed everyone but the person with the run who hasn't been on recently.

Site code needs fixed, so someone would have to specifically handle this issue and update the relevant code. I can either change your name or we're stuck with the current circumstances for now.

Splits generally aren't verifiable information for most games. Games that use auto-splitters and load time removers may have reason to require splits files though. Generally no, but left to moderators in certain cases where it is useful.
