Hi everyone, i'm an NES runner. I run both Ducktales 1 and 2 and i wanted to start running remastered as well. I have just a couple of questions:

• Is there a reason why almost every run is done on extreme?
• I have a full locked savestate to practice single stages, but of course it's not on extreme because extreme doesn't save afaik. Can i still use it? What are the main differences except of the obvious damage and number of hearts?

@Liv I need some changes in the ducktales 2 board ( https://www.speedrun.com/dt2 ). Afaik only me and nme are verifying runs. I have some candidates to take the moderation. Can you remove bangerra and nudua as super mods? Of course i would Need to be upgraded to super mod.

FYI this guy is now submitting under the name of Xipo, who is (surprisingly) the TASer that reported him (see point 2. in the previous post). The funny thing is that he really thought he could get away with this, especially with this comment: "Hello!I am Xipo，one player from China,who complained/reported ID:pingjizhuanjia cheated." Yeah totally something some would say in his submissione comment.

So let me see if i got this straight:

1. you submit not allowed stuff, with unallowed emulators
2. a TASer contacts the mods with clear proofs of sketchy stuff
3. we get infos about you being banned in china
4. we gather more infos from other members of the NES community from china (people you called out) that say have nothing to do with you and confirm you have been banned everywhere
5. we reject all your submissions because of the above reasons
6. you start insulting and spamming all day and the admins ban you (i can't ban people fiy)
7. you start creating new accounts evading your ban (which is a big no no in EVERY community)
8. you use the aforementioned accounts to insult me, my mother, aiqi (which is a respected member of the NES community) and basically everyone else (because you know, if you call people FOREIGN DOGS, i assume every foreign is a dog for you, that is, basically every speedrun.com user but chinese ones).

do you realize that at this point there is no way anything from you will ever be accepted anymore? trust me, you can even create 10.000 accounts, you can do anything, but there's no way they will remove your ban and / or accept anything.

i would say reject, that run seems sketchy, and the no movie / frame counter seems overlaid.

Exactly, we merged the "old" any% into one single category (one controller only of course). The same thing we did with ducktales 2 basically. In this case has even more sense, because timewise easy, normal and difficult are identical.

About people running difficult: new players run easy anyway. For top 10/15 players, running easy or difficult doesn't make the difference as long as you're using proper strats. So i guess it won't be a big deal.

"Any% is Any%"

Well.......no. any% means: beat the game as fast as possible. No matter what. And again, we're not discussing main categories here, i don't really see the point.

I've created any% 1p2c as a TEMPORARY solution. I will think about something more definitive in the weekend, becuase it would have to deal with moving hundreds of runs, so we'll find a good way for this.

maybe i could just add an any% 1p2c, with an extra difficulty column. Then specify in the rules that co-op is not allowed. That implies though that any kind of shit you could potentially do with a second controller is allowed (i don't think though there is something else than those wraps). Believe me when i say that, while figuring out a "comfortable" way to try these strats, i even thought about asking my girlfriend to press UP at some point. Of course i would have never done it, but that came into my mind.

I suggest two solutions:

1. 1p2c becomes any% old any% become any% (no 1p2c) or something like that

2. 1p2c becomes any% 1p2c any% stays any%

I think this is something close to Zelda up+A

well..they are in Chip n Dale 2 and TMNT 4 for example. Because in those two cases they are significantly faster. In this case, i'm not suggesting to make it the main category (i've never said that, where did you get it from?)., just renaming it to any%, because any% is always the fastest category.
