Northern IrelandI've noticed a few runs being uploaded using mods, primarily the widescreen HUD patch. These mods could very well have unintended effects on the game's behavior e.g. randomness, lag, harming the authenticity of the run.
I apologise for not being active on SRC for a while, as this may not have become an issue, but not using unnecessary mods is a standard in pretty much every other console game, so to me it would be correct to uphold that standard here.
That being said, a lot of runs have been uploaded over the years until now, and it would be harsh to remove all runs that use mods, so I think that should just remain up for discussion until there's agreement on that.
I'm struggling to find a good way to explain this, but to put it simply, there are nearly 2000(!) IL runs for Burnout 3 on Cyberscore for all the different tracks combined, relatively few of which are accounted for on this site's B3 IL boards. Not only that, but speedrun.com is growing pretty fast, and cyberscore is nearly unheard of now, so having those runs here for more accurate and representative leaderboards would be good help for the game to grow, and really, being accurate with what runs were actually done in the past is important to me.
Obviously migrating all of these would be ludicrous, so I thought migrating the top 10-20 for each track would suffice. I was thinking doing this might turn a few heads, so to anyone with a bit more authority on this site, would it be alright for me to go ahead with this? Thanks!
Each time you collect all the letter tiles for a level e.g. Goo Lagoon, you'll be sent to that level's tile puzzle. After you solve that, you can collect the Dutchman's Treasure for that level and you can then move to a new level/area.
I'm pretty sure the only thing you need the coins for is to collect the "Collect X Doubloons" letter tile for a given level.
As for the jellyfish, not only will you need to collect a certain amount in each level to get that level's "Catch X Jellyfish" letter tile, but there will be times when characters will ask you to have caught a certain number of jellyfish before you can progress (like Larry does before you can get the bus ticket to Goo Lagoon.)

Your memory card is the thing that has been modded, not the console. If you remove the FMCB memory card before powering on, your PS2 will essentially "become unmodded", so I'd say you would be fine if you did that.
If your PS2 were chipped, though, that'd be a different story.
When I right-click my donor icon and click "Open Image in New Tab", it'll open an 18x18 image, but if you open, for example, the icon for a Discord link (there's one under my name), it's a 64x64 image, and it looks quite sharp on the actual site, too, even though the two icons are pretty much the same size. The icon I uploaded was 172x172, and was much sharper than it is on the site.
So I might be wrong, but it looks like the site is taking the icon I upload, shrinking it down to about 18x18 and saving THAT as my donor icon. So I guess what I want is for this icon and all the other icons that get shrunk down, such as the 1st-4th place trophy icons to be saved and shown on the site in 64x64 resolution rather than 18x18, but for the size to be the same.
Currently, icons are limited to about 18x18 in size, which can cause pictures with even a few details to look very blurred or even unrecognizable compared to the original.
I feel that a size of 64x64 would be the best compromise between quality and file size/bandwidth usage, but in the end, that's up to the site admins to decide.

I ripped these to replace the default trophy icons for 1st to 3rd place on the boards.
Burnout 2 has separation of forward and reverse times for each IL track, so it'd be both convenient and less confusing if we could have it for this game, too.
If that happens, if you walk far enough away from him and come back, he will talk to you.
What about with Fast Disc Access disabled? With it disabled, I get load times that are extremely close to those on GC.

This run achieved a time of 1:08:91, but was submitted with a time of 1m 08s 091ms. He probably didn't realise (and I didn't for the longest time, either) that the timer actually counts to the nearest 10ms, not the nearest ms. Because of this, the run should actually have a time of 1m 08s 910ms.
This isn't me trying to increase the run's time for my benefit, I'm just trying to help ;P
If someone could correct this, I'd highly appreciate it, and I'm sure umopapisdnpuaq would too :)
