I don't think it's fair to use that code or the c-stick in single player or any other modifications to the game. :p
yeah if you run a game off of a disc, the read write speed is way slower than the read write speed of a USB, so load times are blazing fast. Like they can be half the time.
I don't know why emulators are allowed tbh i just asked the same question in SMB1's forum.
i know iso loaders blow disc times out of the water, but if I had an SSD, wouldn't my load times on emulator be similarly fast?
What are the rules for this game? Are they well defined yet?

Ok, curious. How does any% 32 work, since you have to beat all of the levels with first place, why not just make it 100%?

Look up 'streaming melee' because the melee scene has really fleshed out all the options.
Many choose to use wii components and an elgato for highest quality, or dazzle DVC101 (or 100, as mentioned)
Dazzles are finicky. You can get audio out of it with OBS, if you need any help you can ask.

Yes, I have played event 32. Don't insult me.
Off the top of my head, Starfox Adventures, WR ~4hr 50min. Has a category called first spellstone where you only beat the first dungeon. Takes about 1hr 30min.
What I ask is not unreasonable, Ewil thinks it is ok.
I'm not going to debate it anymore, no wonder no one runs this great game with such a tyrant in a seat of power.

Some other long games have speedruns that do not complete the game.
Mario 64 for example. 16 star run is very popular, and good for beginners because it is short.
I do not see why this game cannot also have a category which results in completing some noteworthy objective which does not mean the game is beaten.
I think it is ridiculous that only one person in the world wants to run the game you're a mod of, and you won't let them have a category that's less than half of the 5 hours it takes to beat every single event in the tree...
The kind of time it takes to beat all the events is so much different than rushing 30/31.
Clearly 30 was meant to be the climax. Both races after are 3 lap jokes.
If you're really not going to budge I'll just speedrun something else, because there's no way I'm doing all 32 events in one sitting. I'm sorry I can't match your definition of completed :P
About not being able to watch twitch stuff, I wasn't going to bother exporting that run to youtube since the video quality(choppy, bad audio) and the play quality are lacking. I might do it if there's a rule set that's not too grueling for me to run. Also, the broadcasts are deleted in two days, but highlights do stay forever. ^_^
Well, small note about deleting things to do the events run, I just play without a memory card when I do it.
I guess I won't insist there be an 30 Event category, but I think it's kind of silly to not permit the category to exist, since no one has ever run the campaign or ever will as long as it's 5 hours or more. After all, I routed past long knockout tournaments that have 4-6 races in them that take forever. Doing all of these would take far too long.
I don't really understand the event-table thing you're talking about, perhaps you could explain it?
Well, when you beat Event 30 theres text and a voice that says "You've completed Championship mode", which is why I initially asked if it was level 30 or 31, since I consider 31 as a bonus. 28/29 is an 8 race tournament, and event 30 is a ten lap race in the f1, after that is just a three lap race and it's after the 'you did it' fanfare... which of course is one of the parts that lagged out from the video, which I didn't know until I just checked.
I understand if you want to have there be no 100% category, and instead have any% be over at event 32, but I just can't run the whole thing it's just too long.
Perhaps have an event 30, and event 32 run.

About the unfinished run thing though, In the PS2 version, event 32 can only be completed by beating every other event, isn't that a 100% run?
Honestly I don't know what happened with the timer, but it was like ultra late at night I'm sorry. Edit:I mean, I would have just fixed the time to the proper time if it was approved, I wasn't trying to pull one over on you guys I just messed it up. Oh, also, the timer starting 3 seconds before I start and finish is because of the lag from my capture card, the timer isn't delayed to match so it looks like it's starting/ending early.
Good tip about extreme. I haven't played in several years and I was going for consistency, remembering that extreme can be a bit slide-y and didn't want to lose by crashing into a tree (something I'm prone to anyway). I'll do it next time, haha.

I don't mind doing it again except for event 28 and 30 themselves which are a bit of a stamina thing. I made plenty of mistakes and I kinda wanted to run it again soon anyway.
