From the partner's perspective, I guess there are plenty worse habits than speedrunning - some of my friends vanish to the pub straight after dinner and aren't seen again until bedtime. Speedrunning is pretty harmless in the scheme of things.

This looks like the sort of game where deliberate lag might break the game but I haven't tested this yet.

I have the items I want deposited in my bank (have only so far run on Slot 1). I am going to try a run out soon so will delete my existing save file at Slot 1 and restart a new game on that slot.

That's correct isn't it, deleting the existing save game on that slot will not wipe out the items in the bank? I am just paranoid that I am going to lose my items!

I think I read/heard somewhere that the update will officially release May time. I will probably try some runs pre-update based on the existing route, when I finally get the chance!

There are definitely a lot of really credible speedgames on mobile now and the community is growing well. I've mentioned in a couple of other threads that mobile is the only platform that fits in with my real life commitments. If anyone needs suggestions then the discord is really useful.

One of the big draws for mobile over other handhelds is capture. Both the Samsung and iOS native recorder are now really good and there's a lot of free third party ones too.

Oh wow, so dev is adding the pdagger drop when he does the competitive mode update later this month? Makes sense. Not sure if i should bother doing runs now then (just got the gayan dagger), might wait for the update instead.

Also sleep, is it worth adding world categories a la cat bird? Sub10 runs are quite popular

Hi guys. I am still playing through the game to obtain the speedrun bank items. Do you know if there is any other way to get the improved jumpsuit other than getting a star in the first 15 levels (which is a bit of a pain)? Also, do you recall how you got the light dagger? I know I can buy the ring you need at least, just gotta grind for some coins...

@Milength Also, to clarify, mods don't have to have their runs automatically verified, the mod can untick auto verify when they submit the run and wait for another mod to deal with it, if he wants to.

Given how competitive and optimised the top times are, especially in grass dungeon, is it worth making video proof mandatory for top ten times going forward (but not affecting existing runs on the leaderboard)?

Blazen will correct me if I'm wrong but I think he uses Floating Speedrun Timer for the timer. Not sure what his recording set up is.

If you have a Samsung then its native screen recorder is perfect (can record in game audio, which most 3rd party recorders cannot). If you don't have a Samsung then I found AZ Recorder was pretty good. If you run on iOS then of course the new native recorder for that is the way to go.

@Eggwink Thanks and I hadn't even considered the legalities. I read into it a little and I think given there would be parental consent it would be fine. Tbh it probably won't happen as I'm not sure how the wife would feel about me getting the littlun to do it.

Slightly off topic, I have toyed with the idea of getting my 18mo to do a speedrun of a kid's game that can just be key spammed and posting it on src, as I imagine that would make her the youngest official speedrunner in history? Or does it count if the runner doesn't actually know what's going on and has no intention to finish the game quickly? If that counts as child cruelty then I'm joking.

@Eggwink My wife definitely doesn't understand why I do it and ribs me a bit for it, but she is happy that I enjoy it. That said, we are both busy generally so if there is an evening / time at the weekend when we are both free, speedrunning is most definitely not permitted! Hence, I have to wait until she is either out or asleep, and then there is the baby factor...
